I don't know. Wilder gets out-boxed by pretty much everybody. But then "WHAM" he lands the nuclear right hand. Fury showed how to beat Wilder in the second fight. Make him fight moving backwards, rough him up on the inside. Don't give him the range he needs to punch with power. It will come down to Ruiz being able to do that. He seems like a guy, maybe the guy, that could do that. It's not guaranteed though. He will have to work his way inside without getting clipped.
Be 7 Foot tall, push him with your longer reach so he can't jump into range with a power shot (as Wilder did in the first fight), this blue-print works if you are 7 foot. Wilder can add angles, come light & he will be able to deliver a clean Right hand KO in the rubber match, but it will still be much harder than facing anybody because of Fury frame-range buffer zone If you are shorter than Fury, the first 1350psi Right hand will put some sense into any human who tries to come to Wilder with his own feet!
I feel that Ruiz has a good enough chin to relatively withstand the Bomb when it lands. I suspect he may get dropped at some point... but I think hes able to get back to work afterwards. I also think his offense is going to nullify a lot of what Wilder wants to do. Most of the time Wilder is able to guage, guage, guage, round after round, and then finally finds the target. I think Ruizs offense is going to disrupt that. We'll see I suppose. War Wilder.
I rate Ruiz pretty highly. This fight would be an interesting contrast in styles. Ruiz with his quick combos, Wilder with his reach and booming right. I think you hit the nail on the head. The question is whether Ruiz can get inside without getting caught with a flush right. I don’t think he’d be able to for the full length of a fight, as his defense isn’t great, so he’d have to get to Wilder somewhat early. With Wilder’s big reach advantage, Ruiz would have to walk that fire to try to land. Push comes to shove, I’d think Wilder’s power would emerge before Ruiz could stop Wilder, provided he isn’t a broken shell of a man.
This fight is a career-booster, not a career ender Wilder and Ruiz are less likely to see Virgin Mary in their dressing room after a loss... Both can easily go on and KO Anthony Joshua any given day, although Joshua would love a Heavyweight division stacked with Whyte clones so he can keep filling up stadiums without catching another beatdown
Ruiz's chin is probably where we it most differently. I don't think Ruiz will walk through that shot. Ruiz has a good chin but I don't think he will shrug that off.
I Wilder had problems and really serious problems with OLD and slow Ortiz, then no comments. Ruiz isn't 40 y.o and if he will be motivated and in good shape, once ( if ) Wilder will miss his punch bomb, he will get 2-3 power punches from Ruiz and might not last so long than vs Fury in 2 nd fight.
so funny, go back to before the first ruiz fight when i was saying wilder was tailormade for ruiz and everybody laughed.
Wilder should stay away from Ruiz imo. Stylistically Andy is all wrong for him I reckon. He doesn't have the foot work to get himself out of trouble and Ruiz will be coming forwards and bombarding him with combos all night. Strong chin too so an early highlight reel KO is unlikely.
If Ruiz comes in looking like he should be an ocean occupier then Wilder could even win this on points.
