U.S boxing fans here had found a lot of excuses even if GGG had KTFOed horesmeat clenelo in both fights.

Of course he wasn't out of prime and buterelo is " champ " for guys like you.:D

BTW, do not brag about U.S refs or judges work, these are the same as in U.K = A side and B side work.
    Nothing more.

Entertain fans more capable are judges and refs than fighters.:D

If he dies by way of crocodile predation on safari in Africa or Australia (or anywhere that has a zoo with crocs in captivity) you can change one vowel in your title and it will still be a valid question.

Don't you find it odd that Kovalev went from prime vs Ward to completely shot in a period of about 2 years. The reasons given for that sharp decline were well founded. After all, he had been brutally stopped twice and developed a hard drinking problem. OK, so that makes sense. I can buy that argument that he was not the same fighter vs Canelo as he was vs Ward.

But then with GGG, he apparently went from peak prime vs David Lemieux to "way" past his prime 2 years later. This just doesn't make any sense. He was never hurt or stopped like Kovalev, doesn't have a drinking problem. According to Serge, GGG just suddenly declined rapidly just in time for the Canelo match. That's an obvious exaggeration of his decline in an attempt to discredit what Canelo did to him.

Well, we've all been thru this stuff many times. Canelo waited him out, gave up his belt because he had legal matters to attend to, but Delahoya came out shortly after to announce that Canelo wouldnt be ready for GGG for 16 months, to allow him time to grow into a middleweight, all the while outwieghing GGG on fight night weight while competing at 154lbs or Canelo weight at 155 lbs. Canelo was still trying to drain GGG , so they made HBO stop showing fight night weight because it exposed their narrative. To this day fight night weight for Canelo fights dont happen because it can be used against Canelo's spin doctors.

My point is they were waiting him out for a reason, and Canelo and his team didnt seem to be forthright about their reasons, creating suspicion.

You're assigning motives to Canelo that you don't know happened. The reason he gave up the belt was because of the WBC giving him a 15-day timetable. He could have attended to his legal matters, which were involving his former promoter, then made the fight with GGG. But not within those 15-days. The 15-day timetable was unreasonable, it's not a normal thing that the WBC does. So you have that, and then Canelo would have been advised by DLH to drop the belt because otherwise he would have been at a massive disadvantage in negotiations. This is prize fighting after all. While let GGG hide behind the WBC and dictate terms to Canelo? So all this stuff that was going on that led to him dropping the belt clearly did involve De La Hoya. And the WBC giving him the timetable. What is causing you to claim Canelo was trying to drain GGG? If anyone was trying to drain anybody it was De La Hoya, and it never amounted to anything so why complain about it? Complain about instances where fighters actually were drained, when fighters were made unhealthy. A promoter talking about it isn't the same, because it didn't end up happening. And hell for all we know, Canelo sat De La Hoya down and told him to stop talking about 155, that he wants to fight GGG at 160 so he'll get full credit and there won't be any excuses.

I know you like trying to blame Canelo for what De La Hoya did. But lets be real - Canelo was not behind any plan to drain GGG to 155. De La Hoya though did probably use that as a tactic. De La Hoya was clearly overplaying his hand, but it probably stemmed from the fact that 1) Mayweather was able to get away with forcing Canelo to agree to a catchweight, resulting in Canelo's only loss 2) Cotto had been defending the MW at 159, 157 and 155 lbs and this was not seen as a big problem, people said "well Cotto was just a blown up welterweight anyway" trying to justify it 3) The WBC had already forced Canelo to vacate his title, so De La Hoya was probably not happy about that.

So we can criticize De La Hoya and how he might have tossed around fighting GGG at 155. But how can you ignore all the catchweight BS that Canelo had to put up with to begin with just to make fights with Mayweather and Cotto? The fact is Canelo had not yet moved up to 160. You say but he still outweighed GGG on fight night weight. Well even if so, that still doesn't translate to making weight at the weigh-in. He still had never fought a full fledged Middleweight as big and as dangerous as a puncher as GGG. He had every right to be cautious of GGG especially moving up to a new weight class and fighting him before testing himself at the weight.

Look, criticize De La Hoya all you want, I agree with a lot of your complaints, but don't pin what De La Hoya did on Canelo. And don't ignore what happened to Canelo in the past when he had to sacrifice himself for other fighters demands like Mayweather or Cotto, but then he was being criticized for his promoter tossing around the idea of what Mayweather and Cotto were able to get away with. That's double standards. Canelo was being advised by De La Hoya, he put his trust in Golden Boy but obviously at some point he realized he didn't agree with DLH's negotiating and decided he needed a new promoter. Which we can all agree was a good move for him and the future of his career.

Very true, but from De La Hoya's perspective, this would have caused him to feel like he had been wronged and put at an unfair disadvantage. After all, isn't this was caused DLH to go into rehab during fight week of Canelo fought Mayweather? He knew Mayweather was trying to drain Canelo and advised Canelo not to fight him because of it. But Canelo sought out Mayweather anyway, making sacrifices to put himself at a disadvantage to make the fight. And what happened there would have caused De La Hoya to seek catchweights into the future. Two wrongs don't make a right though, and it's important to point out that Canelo never ended up doing what Mayweather did to him to anyone else. And Canelo very well may have talked De La Hoya out of trying to drain fighters, like GGG, which he should be commended for.

This is the unfortunate narrative that has existed, and the damage that fighting Mayweather has done to Canelo. More than the loss itself, or even the catchweight, but the fact that this caused people into thinking and assuming that solely because Canelo is such a big star, that he would go on to do what Mayweather did to him to others. The fact is, he didn't. He never drained a fighter down from the weight they had been fighting at to meet him at a catchweight.

So as much as you want to perpetuate this false narrative, he never actually ended up doing what you claim he did.

    maybe.
Still, despite he lost fight, after this his purses has increased, interest about him too and Canelo had started to earn a lot from his next fights.
Floyd also didn't had finished him or damaged with long term impact.

Sorry, I do judge fighters more from MT/KB perspective and lost fight on points in fighter's record doesn't make him less worth for me.

Yeah, in kickboxing and MT more matters who was opponent, opponents level than 0 in fight record like in modern pro boxing. Old times pro boxing didn't had modern curse with 0 obsession in fight record. The same Moore didn't had 0 and he is famous boxer.

No he isnt shot, declining maybe, he is a little different. It has something to do with different trainer, so the jury is still out. Even if he is 80% GGG he is still good enough to possibly defeat the entire middleweight top 10. If he has the ability and desire there are lots of great entertaining top 10 middleweights fights out there for him. I would love to see them.

If GGG was dumb enough to do it he would have, but he wasn't. Also, you act like Canelo was at such a disadvantage but he outweighed Floyd by 20lbs or more on fight night. Thats why GGG would never come down for Canelo but might for a Floyd fight.

Well GGG's a pretty dumb guy. He was dumb enough to complain that Canelo didn't fight Mexican style in the first fight, and he was dumb enough say if Canelo fought like a Mexican in the rematch, he'd knock him out. GGG never came close to knocking Canelo out in the rematch, so GGG looks pretty dumb after saying that. The fact that he said he was willing to come down to 154 for Mayweather also fueled the talk of a catchweight.

You don't know how many lbs he outweighed Floyd on fight night, you're guessing as to what you think the difference was. This is your way of trying to justify the catchweight. And frankly, if you believe he outweighed Floyd by 20+ lbs on fight night, then that would mean Canelo would have been well over 170 lbs in the ring, more like 175 most likely depending on what Floyd weighed in the ring. And if that was the case, that Canelo was 170-175 on fight night, then that's even more evidence that it would have been hard enough for him to make 154 let alone 152. If a fighter rehydrates 20+ lbs overnight, which is what you're claiming, then he's already cutting a lot of weight just to make the normal weight limit as it is, which makes having to shed off 2 additional lbs to make a catchweight weigh-in even more of a strain.

And if fight night weight was such a concern for Mayweather, which I'm sure it was, wouldn't a rehydration limit been more appropriate? Forcing a fighter (Canelo) who you and many others believe rehydrated upwards of 20 lbs after making 154, then forcing him down to 152 for the weigh-in would be difficult to do since he would already be cutting a lot of weight as it is just to make 154.
