    Hello,

I was hoping some people would be interested in this short documentary I've made about heavyweight boxer, David Price. I filmed and interviewed David in the run up to his last two fights (against Dave Allen and Derek Chisora) and this is what we've produced.

    WAGES OF BLOOD:
    This content is protected

Our approach was to match the reality of being in a boxing ring through visuals – erratic movement, objects shifting in and out of focus with an emphasis on small margins. Audio from interviews with David and his trainer, Joe McNally, accompany the visuals – both breaking down the realities of what it is to be a boxer. It’s a sport that can be portrayed as glossy at times, but it’s not all knock-out reels – it’s simply a job for many. A punishing job, physically and mentally. Hopefully we've captured the essence of this side of boxing with this short.

Be great to know what people think - and if you like it, please share.

Thanks for taking the time to watch it (if anybody does!)

The start is very Joe Joyce mode mate - very slow and you need to capture the viewer's attention quickly or they turn off.

Perhaps showing footage of the Pedvetkin and Kebab Kid knocking out Big Dave would get the message across quickly leading to interest in the reality of the aftermath for the fighter in the weeks and months ahead.

This short piece shows there is a good story to be told regarding the big man's career which boxing fans would love to hear in more detail.

What about starting off with him doing a plumbing job, let's say fixing the U-Bend under a sink. Then the housewife walks into the kitchen seductively eating a banana wearing her latest getup from Anne Summers.

She says to Pricey "I'm a bit short on cash at the moment but maybe you can give my pipes a thorough bashing with that massive plunger of yours".

Pricey gives a wry smile, stands up and then uppercuts her onto the chopping board.

I'm genuinely surprised with how that ended. I thought Price was going to be KO'd by the underside of the sink, rabbit punch style, as he was getting up from his knees to see what the wife was wanting.

I enjoyed it, a little bit of raw insight! I kinda agree with the first reply. The bit between the old fight and the content was a touch long (for me). I'm on the internet a lot and my attention span is getting shorter and shorter. If I wasn't committed to watching it and had just happened to have stumbled across it, I may have flipped over before it got to the content...or at least skipped the very first bit. But the content I enjoyed.

I enjoyed it, cheers for sharing pal.

The footage at the start was something that Dangerous Dave will never find himself in, his gas tank and chin will unfortunately stop him ever taking part in such a battle.

I work in post production as an online editor/compositor. I also used to edit sports highlights. How about you?

That's a tad bit unrealistic if you don't mind me saying mate, Pricey would have been gassed by the time he stood up.

I enjoyed that but of course, I'm a fight fan. I know David has a story so I could wait for the film to unfold.
Because of the nature of the sport, every Fighter's story, I think, is worth hearing. Too few want to tell them.
