On points. Thats the problem. Fury isn't a prolific puncher. Fury was also coming off of a 2 year period of ballooning up and down in weight and abusing his body. He was clearly not the same man he was when he outboxed Klitschko as shown in his comback fights. It was a cherry pick. Wilder himself said Fury is pillowfisted which is also why he decided to fight Fury.

Wilder literally admitted he ducked AJ yet this narrative of AJ being scared and Wilder being this monster that was destroying the division still persists. AJ's team has sent the contracts. Not the other way around.

 

Anthony Joshua knows his CNS-threshold, Andy Ruiz 1100 psi punches made him quit...in the rematch he boxed accordingly avoiding any exchanges with his destroyer. That was versus Andy Ruiz he understands how destructive Deontay Wilder 1350psi Hypersonic Right hand is. How is Anthony Joshua supposed to train for Deontay Wilder when he knows it will be all over as soon as Deontay Wilder lands the first right hand.

If it doesn't happen, it's obvious that they want to handicap Fury in some way, most probably by not allowing a 'tune-up'.
If there's an issue, it's likely not money or location. I highly doubt it's name priority on the poster or walk out etc.
Hearn-J have a history of entitlement when it comes to contracts/fights. Fury has a history of making deals even when he could hold out for more.

It would be hilarious if it fell through and AJ lost to Usyk. Hearn must be scared of that, though, so he might give Fury what he wants ultimately.

 

Is it obvious? Really? Fury had a chance to do a warm-up fight with Takam on December 5th and according to Takam's team it was 98% done. But then Fury pulled out.

The more COVID recedes the more pressure comes on for something to happen one way or another. None of the Fury/AJ/Wilder/Usyk group are getting any younger. And arguably besides Joshua, none of them have a really enduring legacy at HW.

At this point I'm kind of hoping that someone younger and new emerges as a threat to shake up the stagnation.

 

Well, yeah. Usyk after injuries and then moved up in HW division, besides Gassiev ( pre injury Gassiev was like made from piece of stone ) an Briedis version before WBSS2 ( in WBSS2 didn't looked that he had threw anything more than with 90% even vs Dorticos and looks that WBSS2 had started with seriously damaged Briedis version and also Murat is after injury and long delays in high level fights.
Usyk now too is post injury period before he moved to HW division. Not good for all of them.

A.J legacy is nothing more than old out of prime fighters beatup in eddie backyard unlike Fury or even Dorticos or Tabiti legacy.

 

He’s had over a year to have a “tune up”
Could have had one in December, January, February. I’m sure a self proclaimed fighting man that isn’t interested in belts or purses like Fury could manage to find an opponent in that time.
