Nov 30 1979, Victor Galindez vs Marvin Johnson, WBA Light Heavyweight Title, TKO 11 Johnson. Vito Antuofermo retains his undisputed World Middleweight title with a 15 round a draw against challenger Marvelous Marvin Hagler. Sugar Ray Leonard stops Wilfred Benitez in the 15th round to win the WBC World Welterweight title.

I always thought this was an impressive card. Not Carnival of Champions stuff, but good nonetheless.

    Vicente Saldivar v Howard Winstone
    Chucho Castillo v Bernardo Caraballo
    Ruben Olivares v Ushi Harada
    Ernie Terrell v Manuel Ramos

That one was split venues wasn't it, Richard, but part of the same broadcast? I think the Hagler and Leonard fights were in Vegas and Galindez-Johnson was in New Orleans, I think. Three top fights for sure.

    Lewis vs Tucker
    McClellan vs Jackson
    Chaves vs Alli
I think Comacho and Taylor were on the card as well

Both McClellan - Jackson fights were on very solid cards.

Correct: The Johnson-Galindez undercard included Thomas Hearns, Hilmer Kenty and Clint Jackson.

Nothing notable on the Vegas undercard but what else do you need with those two title fights?

Moving down a bit the Triple Crown Affair was ok -

    Dokes - Weaver
    Ocasio - Stephens
    Holmes - Witherspoon
    Page - Snipes

    and another ok one -

    Holmes - Cooney
    Gomez - Lopez
    Sutherland - Davis
    Berbick - Page
    Shavers - Tillis

Mark Holmes and others fought as well. Solid.

I liked the Hearns - Benitez/Gomez - Pintor card as well. Jimmy Paul on the card, Doug DeWitt, Richard Savage was thought to be promising as well.

Come to think of it, yes. Both were broadcast on ABC. The Galindez vs Johnson fight was competitive until Johnson sent Victor to the canvas and broke his jaw. The Antuofermo vs Hagler fight was very controversial.

That I can remember watching live? Tyson-Holyfield 1 had:

    Akinwande-Zolkin, WBO Hw championship
    Moorer-Botha IBF HW title

Another 1 that really stands out to me was Barerra-Juarez II.

    Joan Guzman vs Jorge Barrios
    Israel Vasquez vs Johnny Gonzalez
Jorge Paez Jr vs Derrick Campos(pretty fun scrap)

Three fights I would willingly pay to sit ringside for if they had ever happened are ,,,,,,,,,,,
Floyd Mayweather jr Vs Manny Pac man Pacquaio
Floyd Mayweather jr Vs Antonio The Tijuana Tornado Margarito
Saul Canelo Alvarez Vs Gennadiy GGG Golovkin
All 3 fights to be held at Madison Square Garden with Neutral judges & referees with no participation by NSAC,
Vegas boxing & anyone connected with them. in fair honest fights with the legitimately better man getting the win on the night. If these fights had happened that way I would stand up & congratulate the winner who ever it may be & acknowledge them as Champion
Floyd & Canelo were actually offered just hese fights but turned them down. Sadly We all know why don't we

A lot of the most highly-paid boxers won’t fight in New York because the taxes are ridiculous. They take a big cut of the purse off the top. Fighting in Las Vegas there’s no taxes, just licensing fees and such (which also have to be paid in NYC), right?

I appreciate that , but the main reason Id like the fights in NY is so that Pac, GGG & Antonio would have a better chance of a fair fight waYYYYYY awaYYYYYY from Vegas & the NSAC. All 3 & many many more have been robbed in Vegas
