I think the inactivity is an issue but he’s stayed fit and isn’t 40 years old like Klitschko. Joshua only had the one fight himself anyway although activity definitely helps.
I know that Fury has a high base level anaerobically, but I have my reservations considering how bad his physique looks. That will catch up on him eventually. Klitschko, at 41, always took his job seriously and his brother is or was (up until the pandemic) still sparring regularly himself. Any boxer wants to have things in order when they're embarking on a 50-50 bout. He doesn't seem happy with how this has panned out. It's right that Joshua has only had one bout, I'm not sure how much of a difference that will make, especially considering Pulev was terrible and without a crowd. I'd rather see Usyk get in there with Joshua at this present moment, but I seem to be more optimistic about Usyk and his chances than most. I think he has a good chance to beat both Joshua and Fury, but they will want to freeze him out for as long as possible.
Big John needs to move in with Tyson to keep him on the straight and narrow and away from the **** and coke.
Bad news in the next 7 days should be the thread authors opening post. Negotiations underway with Usyk.
I thought Fury looks quite slim in the face, and he was clearly lying about "12 pints a day, I don't eat, get all my calories from beer" ........... it's absolute nonsense. So he started the interview off with complete nonsense, clearly, so everything after that should be taken with a huge pinch of salt.
The only real feeling I get from the interviews and statements from Tyson Fury recently is that he's actually very pissed off with Arum and ESPN, perhaps with Warren, and possibly pissed off with Hearn. We've all said "he should have fought in December, for nothing if necessary, just to stay active" .... but none of us know the full details or exactly whose call it was to scrap that idea. It's quite likely that Fury's been promised a lot of things over the last couple of years and the 'big shots' have failed him somewhat. Whether he deserves those things is another matter, he seems to have been let down on some promises. Bob Arum is a legend but he's notoriously bad for grandiose promises. At the end of the day, I suspect Fury just wants to fight, and the promoters and TV companies have botched it a bit, albeit partly because of the coronavirus pandemic.
https://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/story...fury-ii-gate-breaks-nevada-heavyweight-record How many PPVs has Joshua sold in the US?
I'm sure we will. It's absolutely textbook Fury nonsense. There's far too much money in that fight for it not to happen, covid or not.
So you quote a fight in America against an American and claim Fury is the big star? Surely if Fury was the star then fans would be out to see him fight in his other fights there like against Wallin and Schwartz. They gave away more tickets than they sold. Less than 8k paying customers in the two fights combined. https://bigfightweekend.com/news/fury-wallin-fight-was-dismal-box-office-failure/ https://www.fightsports.tv/fury-schwarz-gate-exceeds-expectations/
Exactly. For all we know there's a possibility that Fury's been informed that there's a chance he has to pay Wilder's Team a percentage of the AJ fight if it goes ahead, or a flat step aside fee. Even if it's a small outside chance, all these possibilities and ****-ups and delays have got to be weighing on his mind. Especially if he believed everything Arum told him, and his own hype about the "£100 million ESPN deal" and guaranteed fights. Daniel Kinahan controversy. A trainer who lives in America. Lawyers fees, etc. Arum's like 89 years old now. Warren doesn't seem to have any say. I'm guessing Fury is tired of it all.
Of course it’s on. All terms have been agreed for a while I have been assured they were just sorting out location.
