Well, Jan that’s all Louis really has drastically on Evander and that’s power Evander was as tall and as long as Louis yes but he was also A LOT more muscular and heavier in his prime I don’t see how that’s an argument no offence:

Power really just is not the key to beating Bowe for all his faults he was so damn durable. In an exchange as much as Louis could hurt Bowe it would take a lot more from Joe then it would for Bowe to win the fight-

This is why Evanders durability was so critical in competing against big men for all his talents which are comparable or greater then Joe he was caught numerous times-

If Louis was caught humour me do you imagine Louis absorbing an assault from Bowe? just answer that. He will be caught I can’t imagine a world where he wouldn’t be at some point caught by Riddick Bowe considering lesser fighters found his chin.

Don’t put words into my mouth I never said he was great but anyone beats the best version of Holyfield is a force H2H this is especially relevant in a match up against Louis.

At no point in first Holyfield Bowe fight are either fighter elusive enough, hard hitting enough, or fast enough to escape a clear cut Joe Louis KO.

People watch fights like this and think it’s Godzilla vs King Kong because they trade hundreds of punches in the pocket without going down. When in reality neither fighter has the mustard to put the other away. Whereas Joe Louis would ice either at numerous times throughout the fight.

Show me one fight where Louis isn’t past it, where his opponent stands in front of him the entire fight to trade punches with him, and doesn’t get the soul beat out of him.

Find me one fight where he had competent fighters in the league of Bowe or Evander stand in front of him at all in his prime.

    Marciano would steamroll them both.
Ali would do laps around them.
    Foreman would bulldoze them.
    Dempsey would shatter them.
    Frazier would smoke them.
Tyson (prime) would eat their hearts.

And Louis would ice them both.

Can't confidently pick a winner here, but I'm confident it won't go the distance & would be one hell of a fire fighter - regardless of how long it lasts.

As if either had what it took to stand in front of him. Not in a country mile.

Foreman and Liston would. Bowe and Evander? Nah. Bowe would try because he wouldn’t have a choice, and would get iced. Evander would take the safe route and stay on the outside most of the time, only coming in to mix it up sparingly. Evander could definitely survive a KO like that. But to stand in front of Joe like he did with Bowe? He wouldn’t last 5 rounds doing that.

Marciano would not steam roll them. They'd both take him apart very convincingly. Frazier & Dempsey have a better chance but still lose. The rest I agree with, but are not as easy for them as you think.

    Not easy, but inevitable.
Rocky was way too dynamic, powerful, and vicious to let them stand in front of him for 12 rounds without them getting rocked to sleep.

    Holyfield blew hot and cold.

A win over Holyfield is impressive, but it does not make you a head to head great!

If you have nothing apart from a win over Holyfield, than why are we eve discussing you?

Evander displayed better durability then both Foreman and Liston Rez I don’t see what that was meant to mean? Bowe did too arguably. Evander is also a better defensive fighter and counter puncher then Liston and Foreman...

I mean if they stood toe to toe Foreman and Liston could most likely wipe Joe out early but that isn’t what we’re talking about.

You also neglected to answer the question, You’re talking about him being iced but Evander has dealt with punchers his entire career I doubt Joe is going to do what Lennox failed to do to an Old Evander even in a brawl.

That’s silly to say, while he does have a thin resume Bowe has got other token wins and he has an amazing trilogy with Evander- I don’t see the point in mentioning him blowing hot and cold when in the first bout it was easily his best performance...

Whom was Joes best win to compare with Evander this is a H2H discussion not a legacy discussion.
