The difference is meaningless, the are the same height and reach, with Holy having slight weight advantage over Louis from Buddy rematch.

Don't even pretend like losing to Holyfield, while beating him twice, is a bad thing.

I'll ask you again. Do you really want to go through the losses of Nathan Mann and Tony Galento to see which is worse than a loss to Holyfield?

And I'll ignore the ******ed sentence at the end.

Schmeling didn't stand in front of Louis. And he was KOed in two minutes.

It might be small, but Holyfield is bigger.

Yeah, he didn't - I'm just taking every chance of giving Schmeling credit he deserves ;)
Not enough to even use it as an argument, which was done in post I quoted.
Holyfield was fantastic, one of the best ever - Louis was even better though.

It happens, he improved and absolutely dominated the rematch. Michael Moorer doesn't fight like Mike Tyson. Holyfield at his peak will always beat Mike Tyson at his peak because styles make fights. Mike Tyson is an agressive midrange fighter so when an inside fighter actually tried to scrap with he had trouble. What would Mike Tyson in his prime have done differently against Holyfield ? Fight him on the inside ? He still would have lost

makes no difference if you mention every loss of Mann or Galento. . Galento and Mann were not necessarily the best men Louis beat. Not by a long chalk. But outside of Evander, did Bowe fight many as good as Galento or Mann who were at least live and challenging for a world title when Louis beat them.

The part where I defied you to name a fighter not called Evander Holyfield (who Moorer could beat anyway) that Bowe Fought who was good enough to beat the Old 1951 version of Joe Louis?

Yes, I can see why you couldn’t answer that one. Because I would give even Jimmy Bivins, Savold, and Cesar Brion a 50-50 chance against most of Bowes opponents.

Holyfield was much better than Baker and Valdez.

I'm not entirely sure as to what point your trying to make here. Also I think Evander's prime ended in the second Bowe fight, so if you ask me, he was on the slide against Moorer and even then he came back and beat him in the rematch.

I think he was past it against Tyson.

I don't think he would've outsmarted Moore. I think he would have pressured and out muscled him

That would be his best bet. But was Evander smart enough to fight like that in his prime? He tried outmuscling Moorer first time but became puzzled. That was his prime. Archie landed a lot of leather on Marciano. I think he would land a lot on Holyfield too.

Archie might have flabbergasted Holy, for sure. I guess I'm kind of lost though...are we talking the Moore that Rocky beat?

I don't think he was in his prime against Moorer. Also he pressured old Holmes and DeLeon
I do think Moore would land but not as much as he did against Marciano. Holyfield had much better feet than Marciano. I also can't see Holy going down against Moore like Marciano did.

well you never can tell. It would be a hard fight against a more complex opponent than he ever fought in real life.

Yeah the Moore who Rocky beat that had just defeated Baker, Valdes, Henry, maxim and Johnson.. Archie fought an absolute blinder in that fight. Rocky had moore working harder than he wanted to but it brought out his entire repertoire. Some really slick moves and combinations. Would have proved problematic for Evander.
