Hello, just a simple question today.
I recently started training with a coach last week. He taught me to keep both of my feet facing straight at my opponent, with them spread at shoulder width. He says that keeping them straight is what every boxer does, you just can’t see it because of the camera angle. Is this bad coaching? Should my feet really be pointing straight at my target? I most often see boxers with the feet at 45 or 90 degrees. Maybe I’m seeing it wrong?

You aren't seeing it wrong. I'd find another coach. Bad habits are as hard to break as good ones. Find someone who teaches good fundamentals.

Where is your coach from? In the usa it is very unusual to teach that foot angle, but in ex soviet country's and cuba they teach that exactly like that, in fight then there is obviously an angle but it is way less then with american fighters.
The thing with the camera angle thought is pure bull****.

I used to work with a coach for a very brief time and he taught me the feet should never move out of that slanted angle. Even when you throw a big right hand the front foot should stay rigid at the risk of breaking your ankle. So you will have coached in lots of places even reputable gyms who dont really know whats going on. This guy was supposedly a pro fighter too. Although now that I think about it maybe he was trying to see how stubborn I was
