How would 'Big' Daddy Bowe fare against: Lewis Tyson (Old) Foreman Morrison Moorer Mercer (Old) Holmes Ruddock Bruno Tua
Lewis-Considering the disdain these two held for each other, I could really envision a rivalry in which they both defeat one another. Probably neither one winning by a knockout. Tyson-If Bowe fought 90s Tyson there would be some good give and take for some time, but Bowe would eventually pulverize and stop Tyson. Foreman-Close, great fight. This is an early super heavyweight fight. I think this would have been one of the best heavyweight brawls of the 90s. Morrison-Bowe would destroy him in no more than 5. Moorer-Moorer outboxes and outmaneuvers Bowe for a few rounds before being knocked out. He probably only lasts a round or two longer than Morrison. He also took a better shot. Mercer-Amazing, slam-bang battle. Bowe was the better fighter though. I could see him climbing off the canvas to win this one. Holmes-Close fight. Holmes held his own against some of the best of the 90s. This would be no exception. Bowe. Ruddock-Bowe could blast Ruddock out in two. Bruno-Bowe takes him out in 5 max. Tua-This is one of the toughest fights for Bowe. Could go either way, but I prefer Bowe. I have not watched much of Tua though, and especially not recently, so I am in no way confident about picking Bowe.
Any Lewis stops Bowe. Bowe's defence was too poor to beat Lewis, who I think may honestly just go out on extreme offense like he did vs most tall fighters. I'd favour 80s Tyson, but I think 90s Tyson gets forced into the back-foot and broken down. Nailed on the inside with the uppercut. Bowe demolishes Old Foreman, Old Holmes, Morrison, Bruno and Moorer. Mercer on song is a dangerous fight and an entertaining brawl. I think Bowe wins based on his jab and size. Tbh, I just find it hard to see Mercer out-fighting Bowe up-close. Ruddock would be a fun and explosive fight. But ultimately, Bowe breaks Razor down and stops him. Bowe may have to get off the floor to beat Tua, but I doubt it. I think his heavy artillery would subdue Tua and make him passive. Bowe wins a decision.
How would 'Big' Daddy Bowe fare against: Lewis...Bowe knocks LL cold in 92, after that year he gets stopped himself.. badly. Tyson...90s Tyson? That Mike gets stopped in 7 at the latest. (Old) Foreman... Bowe wins a clear UD Morrison...Bowe smacks him cross-eyed in 3. Moorer...senseless in 2 Mercer...Ray lands some fine shots, but Bowe UD (Old) Holmes...Larry gets badly hurt more than once and loses by a rock-solid UD decision Ruddock...gets knocked wall-eyed in 3 at the latest Bruno...gets some killer shots in, but is helpless in 7 Tua- UD Bowe, but Tua might get mortally rocked by an uppercut.
From how Larry Donald held up against Bowe im not sure Bowe would demolish old Holmes stylistically speaking. But of course id make Bowe the clear favorite
Tua was overrated, very overrated. He had a rock left hook & a rock jaw, nothing else. Couldn’t box . Riddick bowe would have boxed his ears off.
Tua was never a world champion, although he had great power, particularly in his left hook. He scored a few devastating knockouts but in his acid test against Lewis, he barely layed a glove on him all night. Tua was an averagely skilled fighter with good physicality. It is all very well having power & a good hair-do, but if you don’t have the skills to administer the power- then you will fall short against elite opposition, as he did.
Lewis - Close decision win for Lewis Tyson - Bowe on paper at least had every attribute needed to beat Tyson - Chin, power, size, stamina, jab, boxing ability, however two things that would give Tyson a very good chance here are Bowe's poor defence and unstable personality, would Mike get into his head ?? I'll cautiously pick Bowe but Mike can win this too. (Old) Foreman - Old George gets beat up quite badly Morrison - Bowe KO inside 5 Moorer - Bowe late TKO Mercer - 1991-94 then Bowe gets a close decision, 95 onwards it's a 50/50 (Old) Holmes - Bowe by decision Ruddock - Bowe TKO Bruno - Bowe TKO Tua - Easy UD for Riddick
How about this fighters? Tokyo buster Douglas, Oliver McCall, Orlin Norris, Tony Tucker, witherspoon, Shannon Briggs? What do you guy think? How would 'Big' Daddy Bowe fare against these guys?
Loses to the first 3 (Tyson is 50-50, as he'd abandoned what got him to the top and surrounded himself with yes men) beats everyone else (in one-offs of course)
