    You could say Leonard and a lot of fighters. I can’t think of an opponent of Leonard that actually liked him.

    They almost fought a second time after the fight. Norton made comments to Quarry's wife Charlene. Norton didn't like Quarry, he thought he was a racist.

    There's a Youtube video with from early 1974 with Quarry saying to the effect that he was experiencing reverse racism in not getting a shot at Foreman, I'm paraphrasing but he says "Ali can say this and that, but if say something I'm labeled a racist.". Quarry was not a racist, he had many black friends and sparring partners. Norton and Quarry didn't get along mainly I think from being 2 top contenders in the same division, and both wetre from California. They had several run ins over the years before they fought and the encounters weren't friendly.

    Duran seemed to hate Leonard, especially before the 1st fight, but as we know not many carry the hatred/dislike to after the fight, most embrace, and forgive, notable exception being Frazier, who carried the feeling for decades.

    Nah most of that was just pantomime to sell the fight and in Briggs' case a washed up has been looking for a final payday.

    Yeah that was real, Vargas was badmouthing Oscar for years before the fight happened he seemed to resent DLH's clean cut golden boy image while Vargas had been raised in poverty and was involved in gangs before turning pro.
