He was on a long winning streak, but he was also said amount of years older. I don't know if it will be more impressive beating AJ when he's in his late 30's if he's kept a winning streak against Wlad's level of competition until then. Maybe, I don't know.

Anyhow, he has the best resume of any Fury opponent except Wlad and he might even be the best in current shape. Wlad is certainly greater, but he was 39 and didn't approach the fight as it was the fight of his life. AJ is in his prime and will approach the fight as it is the fight of his life. AJ would at least be Fury's second best win imo.

I agree that Fury's inactivity would be a legitimate talking point if the fight is very close. A bit frustrating in that regard, but there is always the rematch of course.

I personally don't think Ruiz pressed matters at all (and neither did the commentators), that Wlad actually did a better job of that. Ruiz should have finished him in the very next round but let it go on for another three. AJ was there for the taking after the first KD imo.

BUT these things can of course be seen differently and many have the same take as you. Still, though, for one to make it into a major issue his fight backs against Whyte and Wlad have to be put to the side, so I'd say it's more of a marginal one.

It's a bit like saying that just about any decent HW ever would have a good chance at putting Lewis's lights out with one punch since McCall and Rahman did it. And some do argue along those lines (less today than earlier, but some still), but I'm not convinced personally.

And if we're going to take the one off example, we might as well say that Fury couldn't even finish off Wallin, actually looked closer to going out himself by the end if anything, so why should he finish off AJ?

Personally I don't look really at either the Wallin or the Ruiz fight when making my call on this.

I'd lean towards Fury. He's clearly the more natural boxer, but I have concerns about his activity. Joshua has genuine power and killer instinct too so cannot be counted out. I also think he'll be really well prepared for this.

60/40 Fury for me, but would not be surprised if Joshua gets a KO. I think the most likely outcome for this fight is either Fury TKO or Joshua KO.

Reading back it looks like i'm sitting on the fence - but a close super fight like this should be hard to call.

I predict we could have had Wilder vs Joshua long ago if Hearn had agreed to 50/50 just like for this fight. Joshua is worth no more than wet toilet paper, which Fury is going to smash through when this fight finally gets down.

    AJ late KO
    Or less likely Fury decision.

If AJ lands that uppercut it's nighty night for fury!

Not really bothered who wins, just hope it's a war.

Is this a Joke? Wilder won his title of ****ing stiverne and couldn't even fill 20k seater stadiums without Fury.

Joshua was filling wembley and was the UNIFIED champion who won his belts by fighting mostly good quality opponents, besides Martin of course.

Wilder fought literally nobodies until Ortiz who has fought no one except Wilder himself, and Wilder was lucky to win the first fight, could have easily been called off for a TKO and the ref stalled to give wilder more time to recover, and Wilder threw Ortiz around the ring at times and didn't even lose points.

Wilder was worth no where near 50%. It's been confirmed that Wilder didn't fight AJ because he chose to fight Fury instead, and that's almost certainly because Wilder thought Fury would be an easy scalp.

I remember a few years ago a UK crew went around America asking people if they knew who Wilder was, and barely anyone knew his name.

Fury and AJ have more fans in the US than Wilder.

What are you talking about this is a once in a lifetime opportunity my guy. People are writing off Aj when this fight is infact nearly 50/50. That means the betting odds will be in Fury's favor 2/1 or 3/1. Those are some juicy odds boi. Ill be betting 200$ on a Joshua TKO

Yeah, I'll put money on AJ too. But the odds so far were nowhere near as lopsided as this poll, but I hope they get to be.

odds are fury -190 aj +165. very good odds already. i think most pro gamblers are gonna wait till the last couple of days, let the casual betting sweeten the odds even more. i think you may get +200 on your bet or better.

Wilder needs room and time to fire off his right hand while Joshua can put opponents down with punches that don’t travel far and are far more direct thus giving opponents no time to react. Joshua has immeasurably more boxing ability than Wilder, judges distance well, sets traps and while maybe not having the power of Wilders right he carries far more power per punch than Deontay. Joshua has a world class 1-2, right uppercut and left hook and while not being as capable on the outside as Fury is, AJ does have the ability to box from the outside as well as being effective moving backwards.

Fury can come in at 270lbs+ but he won’t bully Joshua the way he did Wilder!
Wilder, a natural at 210lbs, was unnatural at 230lbs and didn’t carry the weight well or increase his power & strength by being heavier.

Joshua on the other hand is natural at 245lbs and is as strong as a bull at that weight, almost definitely stronger than Fury while obviously not being as heavy. Fury will not bully Joshua for the aforementioned reason but also because he doesn’t have the nuts to infight with Joshua who’s better at that than Tyson is.

I predict we'll see the AJ we saw in the second ruiz fight, cautious and focused on accumulating points, not knockdowns. Fury will have to go for the knockout, otherwise, AJ will win on points. Fury certainly thrashed Wilder in their second fight and so he definitely has the strength to smash AJ, but I think AJ has a higher ring IQ and that will ultimately be what Fury has to overcome.

So what I see are the two likeliest outcomes: AJ by points, or Fury by knockout.

This is a 50/50 fight for me so I'm just going with my heart and saying AJ. Hopefully it's entertaining and not just a clinch-fest. I have AJ by TKO/KO.

I don`t think AJ is that good on the backfoot.

No AJ will have to throw far more punches than he did v Ruiz.
