This is a nice double-header in Bolton tonight.

Hughes looked outstanding in his last two fights. Looked strong and powerful against a big guy like Kotochigov and a work horse and bull like Carroll. I re-watched both fights and he won the Kotochigov fight quite easily, dropped/rocked/hurt the Ukrainian several times and beat him up for the majority of the fight. He was taking it lightly in the last few rounds and gave Kotochigov a chance to come back, to grab some rounds but overall it was a crystal clear decision for Hughes despite one judge scoring it a draw (it was a 95-94 card because of the Knockdown which is ridicuous). Considering Hylands style and the layoff and the way he takes punches i don't see this going the distance. Hughes looked really strong and powerful in those fights. He rocked Carroll a couple of times which is a great sign for him growing into the division (Carroll usually not a guy who moves backwards but he did it a couple of times after Hughes countered him). Hughes landed some nasty counters and i think his record is a bit misleading in terms of KO power. Expecting a Hughes KO tonight or at least a couple of Knockdowns. Hyland is the bigger guy though and he'll try to bully Hughes, he definitely has a path if he can bring the volume and take the coutners. Hughes is low volume at times and can be outworked. But Hughes showed some great body work against both Carroll (especially) and Kotochigov and Hyland is super weak to the body so yeah...a body shot KO is live.

The main event isn't as exciting but i'm still looking forward to it. Guerfi is a very skilled fighter but fights reckless at times and he's vulnerable to speed and counters and McGregor is a legit prospect in my opinion. I picked him against Farooq and also bet him and i think he won that fair and square but it was close. Guerfi also coming off a 1,5 year layoff and i'm not sure how much he has left at 34 years of age as a Bantamweight. Picking McGregor by late stoppage. Think Guerfi will gas and will get countered with a big hook at some point.

Not so interested in these undercard fights. Mostly A-side prospect against journeyman. Robinson vs. Allington has some potential to be fun. Both guys already lost their 0s and they both can fight a bit. Should be the most interesting undercard fight tonight. I'm picking Allington here. Apresyan faces a tough journeyman. Would be really a statement if he can stop Bendon. Duffy was an outstanding Amateur for Northern Ireland on the European scene (didn't do much on world level amateur boxing though). His opponent is a typical journeyman. Not sure if Duffy has the power to take him out but should be a boring fight with Duffy winning every round. Masoud is another fake prospect hyped by MTK i think. At least he fights a guy with a winning record this time. Norman won a few rounds off Charlie Edwards back in 2015 but Norman is more likely a Super Fly or Bantamweight and now fighting at Super Bantam so wouldn't be shocked if Masoud gets the stoppage despite scoring only one KO in his seven pro fights.

    Round 1: 10-9 Masoud

Masoud is a fraud. Absolutely terribe. They probably really think he's good but he isn't. Once Maroud fights a living body he's done. Masoud taking the round, Norman looks at least 1 weight class smaller and Masoud is much faster, landing a few good shots in close distance but nothing special.

    Round 1: 10-9 Masoud
    Round 2: 10-9 Masoud

What a terrible fight - as expected. Masoud is **** and couldn't hurt a rabbit with his punches and Norman is just too small and too featerfisted too. I think somebody will KO Masoud with a beautiful right or left hook counter some day.

    Round 1: 10-9 Masoud
    Round 2: 10-9 Masoud
    Round 3: 10-8 Masoud

Commentators trying to hype up Norman as an opponent here. Masoud landing some better shots. Norman desperately trying to hold, he's landing nothing and looks weak as ****. Norman throwing a 1,2 and immediately clinching. Norman tired, holding and holding, and he goes down after a straight left, right hook combo.

    Round 1: 10-9 Masoud
    Round 2: 10-9 Masoud
    Round 3: 10-8 Masoud
Round 4: Masoud wins by TKO

Norman doesn't look like he wants to be in there. He's tired, hurt and is simply too small. Masoud working the jab but very sloppy defensively. He starts to throw more combos, overhand right by Masoud and Norman goes down again. He makes it back up and Masoud lands another sloppy punch and he goes down again, the ref stops it right as the towel comes in. TKO!

Terrible matchmaking by MTK as expected. Smaller guy moving up a weight class against a guy who is even big at that weight.

    Round 1: 10-9 Duffy

Holt once was ko'd by a guy who is 7-90-0 today with a 1.03% ko ratio. Duffy already landing huge shots early, Holt eating some massive bombs, he definitely has no glass jaw but i doubt he gonna see the final bell. Duffy mauling Holt on the ropes, Holt landing a few counters on his own but he's taking a solid amount of damage while doing it. Duffy landing plenty of good shots here, he's truly featherfisted if a guy with 1 KO in 97 fights can ko Holt and he's landing like 20 clean bombs and Holt isn't even blinking. Round ends with another Duffy bomb. Good luck with your next brain scan, dude.

    Round 1: 10-9 Duffy
    Round 2: 10-9 Duffy

Duffy going all out in the corner, unloading and throwing like 20 punches in 10 seconds. Holt just covering up and moving along the ropes. He's already bleeding out of his left eye but Duffy has a solid cut on his left eye so it's even. Holt landing some back, Duffy has no defense at all but he probabls just gives a ****. Holt rocks Duffy hahaha. Duffy is beyond terrible. Going to war with this guy is ridiculous... :risas3: Fun fight though.

    Round 1: 10-9 Duffy
    Round 2: 10-9 Duffy
Round 3: Duffy wins by KO

Duffy is another UK boxer who will get violently ko'd once he leaves the british isles. Duffy lands a great body shot, a left hook to the solar plexus and Holt takes a knee after a delayed reaction, the ref counts to 10 and Holt quits and doesn't want to make the count. KO!
