I was gutted with the gofundme page for Bowe, I was young when I watched him first win the title off Holy, really easy to like before his head went a bit, it all fell apart for him. Sad story, an with more dedication he 100% would of done more, he had the tools. Beat a prime Holy very clearly

I'm not having that mind mate. Not seen Douglas in action lately but Roy Jones Jr still looked decent in his last fight and Tyson got the better of him. Holyfield is clearly in good shape too.

I saw him at a talk a few years ago. I enjoyed it. Wasn't long after he faced that Thai boxer and lost. Could tell back then he had money problems like!

    Agree

people now realize it’s just a show

there’s no anticipation building for a knockout, or a overwhelming display of skill

it’s all just a controlled “show” with no winner

I doubt the next one will sell very well, regardless of who it is he picks

Same with Frazier, had nothing for years, had to close his gym down to finances in the end and lived above it. If I had big dough that’s one man I would’ve happily bailed out. Absolute warrior and a very proud man

Tyson v Holy would do big numbers I think, the older fight fans would pay more attention than Tyson v Jones. I think someone would get knocked out whatever the script is beforehand.

Tyson must be seriously low on funds. He's put out a weed line, a alcoholic lemonade, energy drinks, made a podcast, and putting on these circus show events. I understand hes just trying to feed his family while he can but damn man.

    Of the choices provided, Briggs.
We already saw Holyfield vs Tyson. Holyfield won. Seeing them play fight at an old age is meaningless because we can't even pretend it has any sort of value. Holy wins. Yeah he won when they were young. Tyson wins...who cares they are old. Draw (which is what we will get again) whatever. To a lesser extant Douglas is the same situation. Douglas won when it meant something. Plus, Douglas has not kept in good shape through the years.

Briggs brings us two fighters who never fought before. Both have big personalities and they can make a fun event of it. It's a fake play fight, so personality is important in these exhibitions. We can watch the play fight and at least pretend maybe this is how it would have went if they were back in their prime.

Did you see Tyson-Jones? There was MAYBE one headshot the entire fight (from Tyson). I think Tyson stung RJJ a bit and after that it was exclusively body.

If someone dies, it will be from a heart attack or something, it won't be from punches.

This stuff is pure hot liquid garbage. Stay retired, even from exhibitions.

Yeah sure, beating a four hundred pound Douglas now, thirty plus years later, in an exhibition, erases what many call the biggest upset in sports. Right. *Sarcasm.

    Yeah apparently there were rules.

I'm convinced some old fighter will end up getting hurt.

Jesus people, calm down. Let them have their fun. Did you see Tyson's last exhibition? It was fine and both seemed to enjoy it well enough without much stress. I get the feeling that if it were up to you people, you would strap these guys to their beds to make sure they live to 100 even if they don't enjoy a single day of it.

I personally don't find these exhibitions particularly entertaining, but I don't see a problem with them.
