    Well, I am a massive Jono fanboy, so I might be a tad bit biased. Gift might be a bit of a stretch, but I still thought Jono edged it.

    Fair enough. It was a good fight though. Carroll is a good fighter and fun to watch. I hope we'll see him in a few good fights in the future.

    The ref ordered Hughes into a corner after a body shot doubled Hyland over. You didn’t think a count was coming? I did.

    Then before Hughes is even in the corner, the ref reconvenes the action while Hyland’s back was turned.

    If it wasn’t a KD, why send Hughes to the corner?

    Either way, why restart the action after sending a guy to the corner?

    It was ineptness by the ref.

    It was a tough scene for the ref: Hughes was battering Hyland but Hyland wasn't really going down. Ref seperated them and gave Hughes a sign to move back to the corner, but Hyland wasn't down or taking a knee, he was just moving away and at the same moment the ref gave the command BOX ON but Hyland was still turning his back. No idea why he did it. The ref could have stopped the fight immediately as Hyland was turning his back and walking away, the corner could have throw the towel...it definitely was a bit weird but 80% were Hylands fault, maybe 20% the refs....i guess the ref thought Hyland would turn around immediately as he gave the command....well, he didn't. But it wasn't a bad Knockout. Hyland was fine. At least we got an ending.

    Ref controls the action. He stopped the action when he pointed one fighter into the corner, then immediately restarted the action when one fighter was across the ring with his back turned based on him stopping the action. That is 100% on the ref.

    He got a guy blindsided and dropped because he gave mixed signals. He really could have gotten someone badly hurt.

    Definitely, I'm actually pretty high on him, granted he struggled against Kash Farooq, but Kash is a quality fighter as well.

    No it isn't. If you're a fighter you're responsible for your actions and rule #1 is never turn your back. There were NO REASONS for Hyland to turn his back AND move away. Why didn't he take a knee? Why wasn't he just standing in front of the ref and the action? Stupid move by Hyland. He was trying to spoil the KD & Stoppage.

    Round 1: McGregor wins by KO

    Body shot drops Guerfi. He makes it back (BARELY). Another body shot drops Guerfi again. He makes it back again. He's protecting the body and eats a massive left hook. Fight is over.
