Fury keeps wins five or six more and he will eclipse Lewis. I wouldn't call him the greatest though or Joshua who has flaws aplenty

Fury nor AJ will become GOAT from this fight.

Neither of them have enough quality wins nor do they have a dominant reign.

Hell this is just the first step to making the ATG list ...

There are a LOT of dangerous men in the 70's. Earnie Shaver and Ron Lyle have more than enough power to put Lennox to sleep. Ken Norton is a highly-skilled, cagey fighter who would make for a difficult stylistic match-up. An early 1970's Ali is tough enough to take Lewis' best shots, as well as still being able to retain some of his quickness and slick defensive skills. Joe Frazier would be the toughest pressure fighter Lewis would have ever faced, he simply gets outworked. A prime George Foreman could kill Lewis.

Earnie Shavers would get dicked down by prime Lewis. Of course shavers could knock em out but would he ? Doubt it. Shavers is overrated he's been bested by bums multiple times. Unless Lewis left his chin hanging out he would've knocked Shavers tf out. Ron Lyle is dangerous but again Lewis has the better resume and has beaten big punchers in Tua and Morrison and others. Lennix Lewis would have a significant size advantage against everyone un the 70s including "Big George". Ken Nortons Unorthodox style could give Lewis problems but he was also chinny. Lewis would have him out of there in 6. Frazier definitely could give Lewis problems. But Lewis hits far harder. It could go like Bowe vs Cooper you never know. The only other super heavyweight Frazier fought other than Foreman was Mathis and if i remember correctly Mathis was up on the cards before he got stopped. A prime Foreman went life and death with 220lb Lyle and got bested by Jimmy Young. Lewis had the size and reach advantage and could box. Lewis isn't 205lb, Foreman isn't going to manhandle him.

I can see Ali beating him though

GOAT? For Fury, head to head, it's possible. Currently I feel that is Lewis (H2H)

But in terms of achievements, I don't think so.

This win might put Fury in the top 10.
Dethroned Klitschko fighting on the road.
    "Retired"
Dethroned Wilder fighting on the road.
    18 month lay-off.
    Dethrones Joshua.

Whereas I don't know if Joshua cracks the top 10 with this win.
I think Joshua clearly has the better resume, but in terms of legacy fights is some way behind Fury. And when people look back, this 18 month lay-off for Fury will always be a talking point even if Joshua wins this fight.

I'm not sure why they are rushing to make the fight...
Being 4 belt undisputed will make history, yes. But legacy wise I'd like to see Fury say hey, I'm going to fight the winner of Whyte/Povetkin (WBC) this summer. Joshua deal with Usyk (WBO). Let's do undisputed in December.

No one would be "rusty" and the undisputed fight would close the chapter on this era. We then look forward to the rematch in 2022, and we still have time to see Joyce/Wilder/Ruiz and then next generation coming through.

But that is just childish fantasy on my part

I see what you're saying, but I think you may be overestimating Lewis' ability. All it takes is a single punch from Shavers or Lyle to end things. Their boxing ability is limited, so Lennox can still win if he remains cautious. Ken Norton's cagey style would be troublesome for Lewis as well, even though his chin is suspect, his defense is great. Frazier is incredibly tough and through his erratic head movement and inside fighting I believe he can evade or smother Lewis' harder shots. Buster Mathis has a similar story to Riddick Bowe, in that if he got down to 210 pounds, he could have been a truly great fighter. Shame that never happened.

Prime Foreman was a beast. The size difference won't mean much when Evander himself said George was the strongest man he had ever been in the ring with. And that was an out-of-prime George.

They hardly ever fight, don’t be ridiculous. Half a foot or taller (and 30+lb heavier) than most opponents too.

Id favor Lewis over everyone in that era except Ali. Foreman was a monster puncher yes but Lewis would give him trouble in the clinches because of his raw size. After foreman Bowe and Lewis were the next strongest claimed Holyfield i think. And Lewis certainly has the boxing skill and power to wear Foreman down at long range with his 84 inch reach.

Nobody can be the goat after be slapped around the ring by Andy Ruiz Jr.

Stop trying to force that narrative.

I back him to win 8 out of 10 times if he's in decent shape. Still have him a long way off the goat discussion though.

George Foreman would be too strong to be worn down by size. He was also great at cutting off the ring and in my opinion would plow Lewis' suspect chin.

I guess all in all we will never know the answers to these questions. We can only make guesses at best.
