Ricky Hatton keeps saying lately he beat the “P4P number one” in Kostya Tszyu. Tszyu at that time was only third best in his own division in reality (behind Mayweather and Cotto).
Bellew never, NEVER, beat a reigning Champion. EVERY BELT HE EVER WON WAS VACANT. The only times he fought a reigning world champion.. Stevenson - Stopped Cleverly - Lost Via Decision Usyk - Stopped Bellew is the biggest bullcrapper in British boxing and I include Haye in that, at least Haye beat a reigning world champion.
His comments last night about Cordina being the most exciting boxer in UK boxing really scraped the barrel and he said it with a serious face on as well. Cordina is a very good feather fisted boxer but I have been seriously lacking excitement watching his fights against very limited opposition. The Boxnation commentary for the Russian Card last night was excellent and focussed on the fights in hand with excellent analysis to enhance the viewing experience. Turn over to Sky and you always get Olympic history x 100, he is a good guy x 100, flogging Box Office fights x 100, the co commentator not scoring the card when asked and many other points being made nothing to do with the fight unfolding in front of them. Okolie was very good last night but I feel the Pole has aged very badly with the long absence during Covid and many more could be exposed. Josh Warrington was another recent example.
As much flack as I'll get for this..I always liked haye...and watching his one legged ghost go out on his shield against bellew and him celebrating like he'd just dismantled prime Tyson really ****ed me off. The haye of even 3 years earlier woulda sent his head clean off his body and into row z within the first 3 rounds.... He's just a fat gobby twat...and I loathe him....incase that wasn't clear lol
This annoyed me as well...but going on about cordinas low ko power ...while he used to shout from the rafters about his power with his 50% knockout ratio lol...fuk off tony
I think at the time from what I remember kostya was in the top 3 pound for pound..but yeah Ricky was stretching the truth just a tad...and kostya was a little shopworn by then...still..to be fair I didn't think Hatton would beat him And I wouldn't have picked cotto to beat him at lightwelter
Bellew trying to manufacture a fight with Tyson Fury (fresh off 2 year absense, personal issues, weight loss and addiction) shows what he's about. As soon as Fury was match fit Bellew wanted none of it but will snipe at him in interviews at any given opportunity. I genuinely think the comments Fury made about Bellew and Price rattled Bellew.
Dillian Whyte should take the knee before the Povetkin fight to raise awareness for Tony trying to be left alone. Even in a global pandemic people just won't leave him alone.
Haye was OK, I liked him at the start and slowly went off him, I remember him winning his medal at the Olympics, he was a very different Haye back then, very likeable. It just all went to his head, he became arrogant and disconnected from fans. it's like the stories he told about making fans do 20 press ups for an autograph or pic.. I instantly think some middle aged overweight or unfit dude meets a fighter he is a huge fan of and asks for an autograph or pic and then the fighter tries to humiliate him. Stuff like that made me disliked him, as a fighter he was OK but as a person... not my cup of tea.
Did he actually do that? My mate saw him shopping in Manchester and he posed for a pic with him...he didn't make him jump through hoops... Bit dickish if true
This content is protected From about 1 minute 20 He either wants to kiss your wife/girlfriend or do 20 press ups, he was just humiliating fans for laughs.. I don't like that sort of stuff.
