Just because he isnt the worst doesn't mean he isnt horendous, infact it makes it more terrible. He spends most of the time talking nonsense about how the fighter is a family man who loves his local team, rather than actually calling a fight. When he actually does call a fight he often deceives the viewer. Thats not commentating for me and Smith is appallingly bad for it. If he actually just called a fight he would be pretty decent imo which makes his bull**** even worse as its calcualted lies. He needs to change or go imo.

I refuse to ever buy PPV or even watch Sky Sports directly until they get rid of that clown. How the hell did did that raspy pedo guy with the most horrendous voice get the job as Head of Commentary I will never understand.
Sky give you a red button option for all sorts of things, football for example, where you can have different views, a lot of the time with no commentary. But they don't do a red button option for no commentary, because they know nobody would listen to Adam Smith and the rest of the Comms team. It's often said "if you watch the fight without commentary...". They know this, it should be an option, but they want to sway your opinion and also they'd be out of a job.
That’s a very good point. They know they wouldn’t get away with that in football where a result is clear cut. Boxing obviously can be more subjective unless there’s a KO. MR’s calculated propaganda campaign each broadcast is just so tiresome.
It is so true the commentary point. Anytime I’ve watched a close fight (that I’m interested in) I’ll usually rewatch without commentary to see how I would have scored it differently. For example the first Canelo / GGG fight I scored a few rounds up to GGG with commentary, but without commentary I scored it a draw.
Its awful yes , but you know what ,every promotion is the same PBC is just as bad when you watch them and DAZN are winning the newcomer for licking rectums awards BT have some moments for sure and ESPN the same We just notice it more as MR is for better or worse, our home promotion
Had an idea. Sky Red Button Option. Have a camera next to every judge, technology is amazing now, so it would not have to be big or in the way. So, you press the Red button and pick a judge you want to "sit" with and watch that, would be interesting to see what exactly they see and how you'd score it from that view.
Nice, and exactly the sort of thing they should be doing to grow a fringe sport. Casual fans don’t always appreciate the complexities of the sport and anything in the broadcast that helps educate is great.
I have started watching the sky boxing on mute because of Smith , cant stand it any longer. The matchroom scorecards are even worse when you watch it without commentary!!!!
