Don’t do that my guy. All those guys were 34 and over when Bowe fought them. Cooper was 3-4-1 losing by KO twice before facing Bowe. Dokes was 10 years removed from losing his belt and beat no one in the top 15-20 before the Bowe fight. I’ll give you Tubbs but then again he was KO’d the very next year by a 13-10 Lionel Butler. Bowe’s prime only lasted one fight. He didn’t want to fight Lewis but then there’s no Moorer, Grant, Briggs etc.. a lot of guys that hovered around the top 10 in that era. He gets too much credit for a guy who displayed discipline for one fight at the top 5 level in his career.

Except the lidocaine excuse is exclusive to ****ing Andrew Golota. Lidocaine is widely used and Golota basically behaved like Golota. Maybe he had the same issue against Brewster.
He fought for all 4 belts n got robbed a couple times. He is like prince naz when he fought the WBA 126lb champ n won but didnt get the belt becuz wba didnt want a unification with the secondary org at the time. Nas won all 4 belts before any1 n doesnt get credit for it
Lewis still fought better competition, if you take a look at the Boxrec Heavyweight ratings, you will see that out of all the fighters Bowe fought, only 2 are on the top 100, Holyfield and Dokes.. As for lewis, 10 opponent are in the top 100! Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield,Vitali Klistchko, David Tua, Henry Akinwande, Oliver McCall, Hasim Rahman, Michael Grantt, Tony Tucker, Frank Bruno.

I didn't had followed Golota enough to tell how good or bad he was. If to be honest. I also do not know in what shape his leg was when he was pro boxer. I noticed that he can beat hard but did not had digged deeper about Golota and his career.
