If Boxers hadn't passed away so young they would have been even greater than they are remembered

Dave Sands deserves a mention alongside Les Darcy as countrymen, potential to be one of the top guys in one of the strongest middleweight eras ever

There was this 130lber from Philadelphia, southpaw, very fast, great boxer. He had fought for the title once and by most accounts got ripped off by the WBA.
Tyrone Everett should have been World Champion already by the time he was gunned down. Had that not happened i think Everett was a lock to win the World Championship. All he needed was a level playing field and the opportunity.
I would not have been surprised if he won titles at '35 and even '40. Just from the eye test.

It can go one of two ways.

Sometimes people die at the right time from a legacy standpoint.

If Mike Tyson could have fallen under a Japanese Bullet Train the nigh before the Douglas fight, it would have enhanced his legacy considerably!

Very controversial win for Alfredo Escalera against Tyrone Everett, I do remember that fight,

That was the only fight Tyrone Everett lost in his career.

I remember watching the fight, Everett really won, but you know how that goes sometimes. It was terrible the way that he died, he was shot.

Common misconception on Greb. He used to take an inordinate amount of time every morning at the newspaper stand to make a decision on which publication he'd go with on any particular day. People misattribute all these newspaper decisions to sport but they weren't actual boxing matches. He was even worse at the ice cream shops. He'd want samples and it was just this whole thing.

Salvador Sanchez would be my top choice, then Tyrone Everett. But I have a feeling that Salvador, once he got to 135, would find that the climb would possibly be too much.

Then there's ones that can go both ways.

Ali loses his court case and dies in prison in 1969 (harsh I know )
Then what? How would his ranking even be? it's hard to think about.
