Among older adults, there were no differences in the share of men (82%) and women (80%) identifying as exclusively heterosexual. But more women than men identified as mostly heterosexual (11% v. 6%), while more men than women identified as exclusively homosexual (4% v. 2%) and mostly homosexual (2% v. 0.4%). Exclusive heterosexuals were more likely to have voted "Leave" on the 2016 UK referendum to leave the European Union, whereas mostly heterosexuals and exclusive homosexuals were overrepresented among "Remain" voters.

Data scientist Seth Stephens-Davidowitz reported that the actual prevalence of gay men doesn't appear to vary between states in the U.S. because the percentage of Internet porn searches that are for gay male porn are nearly the same in all states, about 5%. Stephens-Davidowitz argues that in states where there is a social stigma against homosexuality that "many more gay men are in the closet than are out".

They did do better than the geniuses in places like CA, NY, and NJ.

Maybe, just maybe, the lockdowns weren't all that effective. Have you ever considered that?

Their covid response was OBJECTIVELY better than many of the big blue states like Cali, New Jersey, and New York.

While I agree with you and the data certainly indicates that, and not to defend any Blue state Governors or their actions, but to be fair, NY and NJ are much more densely populated regions, especially near NYC so that presented unique challenges that other states didn't have to deal with.

Yeah, of course. Maybe they were, maybe they were not. But when nobody knows what to do with a new enemy, you have to take drastic measures to err on the side of safety.

I really hope that you are not in charge of anything important.

Florida and Texas figures are no worse than place like California and New York that had strict lockdowns and mask mandates.

As for the news about the ticket sales. Its great to see.

Boxing needs these events to come back

There are a lot of factors to consider. I agree.

Like the fact that florida has the second oldest population in the country while cali has the fifth youngest, yet Florida Still had a better response, absolutely and on a per capita basis.

It is not like florida and Texas are small states. They are both very massive

It is never a one for one comparison, but the automatic assumption that harder Lockdowns are better is just false.

We haven't even begun to feel the economic fall out from the brutal lockdowns.

Great correlation, those two are very comparable scenarios.

    Why arent they?

What if its gangrene and it spreads?

Never in human history have millions of healthy people been told to stay indoors and wear masks when they're allowed out. There is no science backing up the assertion that lockdowns work. There is no history to point to.

And now we see states like Florida and Texas, and countries like Sweden, who didn't have hard lockdowns and mask mandates doing no worse than average.

Its the hard lockdown "You're killing granny" people that now look ridiculous and unscientific.

Am I literally evil for suggesting that destroying the economy may not be the best idea?

You have a fundamental lack of understanding on the why. Who cares if it worked or not? It was necessary.

TSUNAMI POTENTIALLY INCOMING! EVACUATE COASTAL TOWNS!! Oh, looks like no tsunami came. That was so dumb to evacuate all of those people, they didn't even get killed. Next time when we have a potential tsunami that we don't know if it is coming or not, we'll just leave those people in place because that evacuation didn't even do anything.

This is how you sound. This the basis of your argument.

If you destroyed 1000s of people lives moving them, and forced them into poverty, wouldn't someone be held responsible.

Wouldn't people ask "Why the F**k did you think a Tsunami was coming??" "Where was your evidence?? My business is destroyed because of you"

I dont think "Ooops, I was just being cautious" would suffice.

Well, no need to argue any further as we are not going to change the other person's opinion. We can go back and forth all day, and it will be wasted energy.
