Said this before not a popular opinion, but yeah who cares. In shape ruiz could be a decent fighter. Fast hand's, very good inside work. Add actually being able to move.

Only thing is ruiz was carrying decent power at close quarters. With losing the weight. Is he still going to have that bang.

i dont think his weight is going to change as much as people think, hes just dropping the loose fat and adding some muscle mass to replace it. hes not tall, but he is a large and powerfully built man. adding 20 lbs of flesh isnt too hard for him to do. i would feel very optimistic about his next performance. especially if hes got his head on straight now.

Well Fury as he keeps telling us is the lineal champion, when he gave up the world heavyweight boxing titles he became the KFC champ, so It will be Ruiz as Taco Bell champ vs the KFC champ.

Both Fury and Ruiz disrespected the title by their antics with result they lost the title.

Fury and Ruiz appear to be correcting their bad decisions so fair play to them, i still think both showed disregard for the title, however pleased to see them back in squared circle.

He said he wants to be the "Heavyweight Canelo". Well he certainly seems to be on his way to that goal getting in this kind of shape.

I'm very proud of Andy to dedicate himself in the gym as he has. It is inspiring to me to see a guy who did have weight problems get into this kind of shape. As a heavyweight to be this fit and bring faster foot and hand speed is scary for the division. Because he already became HW champ even BEFORE he was in this kind of shape. It will be very interesting to see how this translates in the ring, but regardless he has become a much healthier and fit boxer and person and he should be applauded for that. Being in this kind of shape makes him feel better inside and outside of the ring.

Working with Team Canelo has obviously done wonders for this man's work ethic and dedication to the sport. When you surround yourself with Canelo and Eddy Reynoso and see how true champions work and prepare, it becomes easy to use that example to train that hard and become better. Even though I wouldn't normally pay a PPV to see him fight Chris Arreola, seeing him in this kind of shape makes we want to support this guy. Seeing Andy work so hard and shed the weight off has motivated me to get myself into better shape. So that alone is worth $49.95 because you can't put a price on your quality of life and truly being in great shape. Finding that motivation to train hard is sometimes all you need to make it happen.

But he’s hooked up now with trainer Eddy Reynoso, most famous for his work with Canelo Alvarez, and has looked in better shape on social media, like he’s taking things very seriously and wants to get back in the heavyweight race.

“I can’t wait to get back in the ring on May 1,” said Ruiz. “Training with coach Eddy in his gym has been amazing. I’m around great fighters like Canelo Alvarez and we’re putting in the work so that I can look better than ever."

He still looks fat to me. I hope he gets knocked out. We went through this with these fatso's in the past. Arreola being one of them. They lose a little bit of weight for a fight, get a win to still hang around, then get fat again when it matters, lose...this time I'm dedicated...blah blah bah. I hope he gets knocked out by old man Arreola that way he's finished for good.
Guy had no respect for the sport that made him a millionaire. Couldn't be bothered to show up to the biggest fight of his life in any semblance of shape. To heck with this guy.

God you're such a fanboy, it sickens me. No one thinks this PPV is worth it. Now I'm almost convinced you're paid by golden boy to post your clearly biased bull****.

LOL a fanboy? For being inspired by Ruiz getting into shape? Golden Boy? Since when is Golden Boy Ruiz's promoter? You really have no clue what you're talking about. Trying to link Golden Boy to Ruiz or to Canelo for that matter. Neither fighter are presently associated with that company so why would Golden Boy pay me to promote fighters who aren't under their banner?

This has a lot to do with being in the gym with Eddy and Canelo. Even though it was one fight too late for his HW Title, it's never too late to rebuild your career and get into shape. If he looks great vs Arreola, he wlll move up the rankings and could get himself in position to become a mandatory for the winner of Joshua Fury if that happens. If Andy can maintain this kind of shape and develop a high workrate, who's to say he couldn't beat Joshua in a 3rd fight or Tyson Fury?

Andy is putting the Heavyweight division on notice. A fit, in-shape Andy Ruiz is a very dangerous fighter. We already seen what he could do to Joshua while carrying around all that weight. But now we're looking at a much better verson of Ruiz. And many fans now fancy Joshua's chances vs Fury. I could see Fury trying to duck Andy if he ever became mandatory.

I don't think people realize how big Ruiz gets when he's on off season and isn't in training camp. Reports of 340lb plus, when he's not in the boxing gym. Gulp I wonder how big his fridge is?
