I do not know. He started to party too much and stopped to improve. This I know. Like Mike in 1988 th.
He was a very exciting fighter who had a tremendously devastating left hook but his personable lifestyle became overwhelming to him with all the women that wanted him, especially after being in a major movie he couldn’t control his desire to F ,, K every woman that wanted to him, And the results speak for themselves Out of the ring personal choices are part of a world level fighters make up I wonder how his sons career is coming along
As far as I understand it, about 10 years after his official diagnosis he did a complete 180 and started spouting conspiracy theories , whether he actually believed them or not only god knows
Morrison was a powerful fighter with a devastating uppercut, he was interesting to watch but unfortunately he found himself in a difficult era where he could not prove himself, unfortunately his life ended tragically, RIP...
Morrison apparently was way Wilder than Tyson. One of his managers summed him up where he would train one hour a day and party 14-15 hours a day. After every fight, he would disappear for a good 14-15 plus days up to a month where he and his entourage would party non stop. Even Tyson at his worst was not this indisciplined. What killed Morrison at the end was not the HIV. It was the fact that in an instant where from being in a position where all the girls were dying to bed him, he went to being a complete boycotted pariah and that will mess anyone up. A classic example for all upcoming boxers on the story that they should learn from
He is fighting April 10th on ESPN Trey Lippe Morrison vs. TBA, 6 rounds, heavyweights I wonder if Freddie Roach is still his trainer?
he was a force at first. then he ran into mercer and his chin was NEVER the same again. met him briefly while he was signing autographs along with mia st. john at the ceaser's forum. both were very nice to talk with for a few minutes.
I think being in a movie started his roll down hill. I was one who thought he'd win the title and destroy Ray Mercer since Ray was easy to hit.. I recall a story about him that he came to Tennessee to work with trainer Ace Miller on his defense. All that he worked on was prostitutes and coke. Actually with his lack of training and effort it's amazing he went as far as he did.
I know he had some good wins afterwards but for me he never looked the same after the Mercer ko. In reality he wasn't ready for that step up and his inexperience cost him dear.
This. It’s amazing Morrison made it as far as he did. The ESPN 30 for 30 and hearing what Tony Holden, John Brown, and Tommy Virgets had to go through just to get Morrison in training camp was insane. It’s a miracle Morrison accomplished anything.
Agree if he was that much into Partying and not training it’s amazing he came in such a good physical condition each time or at least he looked like he was lean and fit he had a tremendous win against Ruddock and outboxed Foreman In an impressive display
