The Alvarez v Mayweather fight was not competitive to any reasonable viewer of the fight and I would like to see Alvarez in the ring with a quick, slick fighter before I can gauge how much he has improved since the Mayweather fight. Benitez schools Alvarez in an UD imo.

He got past Lara. Jacobs is also somewhat slick.

I appreciate that and I know it's an unrealistic hypothetical but if you could preserve prime Benitez in ice I don't think he struggles against anyone Floyd faced, at least not at the point that he fought them.

Some feel he lost to Lara and Jacobs is somewhat slick? lol If you say so but I don’t see it. Jacobs certainly isn’t’ what you would call a quick boxer.

Alvarez wears him down and stops him.

It needed to be said and it is true.

You see him doing what Hearns couldn't over 15?

Yes, I find Hearns to be overrated in many respects. Alvarez combos are much more intelligent and precise.

Canelo is a different fighter then can be no mistake- as much as he has gained experience Wilfred is on a different level to almost anyone. Seeing him perform with there about 3 weeks of training against Leonard bore one of the greatest poetic sadnesses the sport has ever seen a clash of absolute talent against talent paired with hard work.

Wilfred was a commodity to his farther stuck in a sport he bore no love for, for a father who bore him less and yet he was undoubtedly one of the best ever he was born and raised for violence.

Sad to see that Wilfred had such a childs likeness an absolute level of supreme calm in the squared ring. He was looking into the face of the highest level fistic violence on the planet and had a calm of someone playing a game Hookey his face was telling indeed he was doing what he was born for without knowing without love without drive.

Sad to think Wilfred would be taken advantage till his last breath, he was a man who was forlorn of true affection his story is why I resigned my brother from ever wearing a pair of gloves talent aside.

I just don't see Canelo keeping the pace up after 10 rounds. I see a UD over 15 and SD if it's only 12R for Wilfred.

He got a SPLIT DECSION meaning that one judge thought he LOST.
And for the record I thought Lara won that bout.
That's awesome that he beat a bunch of second rate boxers or one who is shot to pieces(KOV)
Like the other poster said I want to see him in with a quick and slick boxer before I start praising him for his skills.
Its easy to say oh I was too young when I fought Mayweather. And I agree somewhat.
BUT it was the manner in which he lost too.
I think I gave him TWO rounds out of twelve.
He was OUTCLASSED. Had NO answer for the speed of Mayweather.
And lets not forget - Mayweather was 36 years old and was not in his prime.
RAY LEONARD who is much FASTER then Canelo had problems landing on Benitez.
Prime for prime and at their absolute best Benitez is too much for Canelo.

He’s still alive. A real fighter in that respect.

Which was three years after he fought Mayweather. Yes he was closer to current form at that stage.
