As been said a few times before, this was painful to watch Povetikin like this, an absolute shell of the fighter he was. The difference of muscle mass on his shoulders from this fight to the first was clear to see.
    Balance was completely gone.

Love Sasha but don't understand what the problem is .
Will be going home with a couple of millions more .
He is a price fighter and by the way he looked tonight he knew he was going to lose.
He choose an extra big payday and tomorrow he can enjoy it together with his wife and children.

I don't even know how much we can attribute it to the Covid. I'm sure it played a part, probably a significant one, but like I've been saying for a long time the decline from fight to fight has been very noticeable. Age and wear and tear fighting at the elite level with a very aggressive style for over 20 years is the biggest culprit but the Hunter fight took a lot out of him too. He looked a shell of the fighter who fought Hunter in the first Whyte fight and a shell of the shell tonight who fought Whyte in the first fight.

People were expecting a similar version of Povetkin to show up tonight as the one in the first fight but I wasn't. If the version who fought AJ was 70%, the version who fought Hunter was no more than 50% and the version who fought Whyte in the first fight looked half the fighter who fought Hunter and the version we saw tonight looked about as shot as any fighter I've seen.

Well none of it counts outside being the best in the world, which unfortunately he never was.

But in terms of belts, he did have one of those.

Really? Like its hard for anyone to check your name in the searching book .... And see the million post how this is a great fight for Povetkin and all the troll craps. You are clear as a day to me. Fans who pretend they are on the opposite shore are plenty under and over the bridge, you know?

He took the first fight cause there was big money involved and was going to be on ppv. Obviously, even in that fight Povetkin was long past his best. But the money is on the table and if he pulls it off, he has a potential monster pay day against one of the big 2 again. Technically Povetkin was always a much more polished fighter than Whyte and has stopping power even if he is badly fading each passing month. So as a team you look at all these factors and say "do you go for it" or take option B fighting 4 or 5 second rate fights (and some might be more difficult than Whyte) and making a fraction of the money you'd make for this one fight?

Well obviously he took the Whyte fight and it paid off. So then you're in the bonus street. The last pay day mega bonanza. And again you've got the carrot in front of you, if you win, there's another monster cash fight to come.

Whye 2 is a no brainer. It's PPV again, perhaps one of Povetkin's best ever pay days. you have all the previous factors. You're long past it but at least you have the beating off the man. Even with Covid, **** it. You take the fight. But the mindset from the team is different this time. You give everything you can in training and the ring. But if it's not goign to plan, you get your fighter out of there asap and let him enjoy his money. Povetkin's already done everything in the ring. He doesn't need to slug it out giving every inch of his life at near 42 years old.

Povetkin's manager and corner played in perfectly the last year. that's what they're there for.

The belts are mostly dumb, but I'll still show some modicum of respect to the top belts of the WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO, and I think most other people still have some respect for those particular belts.

But the rest? I think everyone would put them in a different, "less respected" category than the top 4, but I personally consider them flat out worthless.

Covid or no Covid, Whyte was going to win. He dominated Povetkin in the first time and same thing happened again. Hats off to Povetkin for being a true warrior. If he was 5-6 years younger, he would beat Whyte and AJ.

Cheeseman and Metcalfe aside, that was an absolute embarrassment for British and World Boxing, a corpse being wheeled out at the end for a previously shown up melonhead to get "redemption", what the hell, the ultimate cherry on the top of a cake laced with excrement. There were so many things wrong with tonight that an inquest should be made, just how the hell is Dillian fecking Whyte even remotely like Marvin Hagler? Such rubbish should earn a ban and fines, it says a lot about the card that that quite frankly insult to the late Hagler wasn't the worst thing about tonight. Honestly, get Campbell Hatton away from the cameras, get Fabio Wardley back to learning and get Dillian Whyte in with someone who can finally end this whole farce, I can't stand seeing his stupid face any more and I can't handle hearing him speak, he's one of those people that muting the TV doesn't help because you still have to see his stupid head and his mouth do weird things when he talks. Feed him to someone who can punch and get him out of the equation for good. Jesus, I could go on all night, it really is that ridiculous, he's nothing Marco Hucking like Marvin Hagler.......

managers and teams get % and if boxer still is usable then why not to earn with him? boxers promoters too.
The same story like with a lot of western boxers. Ali is best example but there were a lot of other names to pick up and show in long, very long row.
