You’re looking at the old Ali in the second half of his career where he didn’t have the feet or movement that he had in his best days and he did absorb early on and take over late, and people who say he didn’t have technical ability, that is a load of rubbish, he wouldn’t’ve still been able to be foreman or Frazier , he used lots of technical ability and ring IQ in the foreman fight

 

Always agreed with this. Ali came off as a racist moron for much of his career and put down Frazier as this uncle Tom. He did get off lightly and gets a free pass because he was 'Ali'.

He did. He denounced the nation of Islam and became an orthodox Muslim which accepts all races as equals.

He did apologize to Frazier and Frazier actually cried on camera when speaking about Ali's condition sad that he couldn't enjoy life like a normal person.

On another note, it makes zero sense to compare the state of race relations in the US in the 60s directly to today with all of the hind sight that is available. Ali was calling out the subservient to try to spark drastic changes to the culturally instilled fear of a black man ruffling the feathers of the mainstream. He has since admitted that he's made mistakes in how he went about it, but referring to Ali as Clay is just a racist dog whistle regardless of your feelings of how Ali conducted himself in an era where blacks were literally treated as less human than everyone else. Because it is very disrespectful, you just do not like him because he was not a warmongering individual that did not like to kill children and people in Vietnam. Banning me would prove that these people agree with his statements, the world has never changed. He should be banned too because he antagonizes other posters with his disrespect towards Muhammad Ali. I have never once heard Frazier say that he should have fought in Vietnam and died for the country that enslaved him. Do you have any link you can post up?

He didn't word it that way, but yes in his own biography he stated he believed Ali should have gone to Vietnam. I'm surprised you aren't aware of this.
