    He was undoubtedly bigger.

That seems to be an unqualified positive for some!

Apparently in the run up to his fight with Carnera, Joe Louis was told about a facial product, that black women used to lighten their skin.

    His response:

"Would I want to look like Primo Carnera?"

He could kill with one hand alone.

What much later became widespread for "Tyson & the holy Ear", has been a looooong time Old Saw with Primo Carnera. Its told:

"When the body ear goes, the head will fallow!"

Reminds me of a football coach who couldn’t think of anything good to say about the quarterback of an opposing team: “I tell ya, he’s got great height. Just stands really, really tall.”

    Good post.

Ali is undoubtedly a much better overall fighter though.

    I don't like this "argument"

You're just laughing him off.as though it's not worth discussing.

Not sure what you mean by "a real natural in all but mentality?" Do you mean that he was not groomed from an early age to be a fighter and came in to the game too late to be comfortable with it, or do you mean that he was stupid, or do you mean something else? I'm just curious.

No disrespect against Primo Carnera, but he did not last as long as Muhammad Ali, Ali was champion from 1964-1967, he never lost his title in the ring, first reign. Ali was champion in his second reign from 1974-1978, then regained it in Sept 1978.
