Sounds like their is a new player in town. Wasserman have bought Team Sauerland and probably have become a major player in UK and World Boxing.

Rumours are that the entrance into the UK market is going to be the Eubank vs Brook fight. Also heard rumours that they may pick up or share some of the Sky contract with Hearn if he switches to DAZN. Also heard they may do a deal with DAZN in the UK and a working relationship with Matchroom to co promote on both Sky and DAZN in the UK.

I think they will have a deal with one of the top platforms in the offing. Be surprised if they have entered market without doing so. If Eddie is of to DAZN in UK I think they will get Sky deal.

I agree, Eddie off to DAZN and Wasserman Boxing to Sky. The timing is just too perfect..

But, it makes me wonder what happens with Fury Vs AJ though.

Would fast car really leave sky? Seems a massive gamble for the uk market to do so.

The new Matchroom deal(s) should be announced any time now. I expect it to be much like it currently is: UK shows and fights involving AJ, Whyte etc to be shown on Sky, all of their European and American stuff (not featuring AJ, Whyte etc) to be on DAZN. Adam Smith has made it pretty obvious that the Sunday morning fights don’t attract a big enough audience to justify the expense.

I have no idea who Wasserman are and I have no idea who the fighters are in the Sauerland stable.

This'll just be a massive opportunity for some people to spunk up a whole load of money up the wall and then announce it didn't work out.

They are a sports management and marketing Co. The guy who owns it has been around for a long time and as has been mentioned already, it may be no coincidence that they are announcing this new venture at The same time eddies contract with sky is coming to an end.

Who else is there, to pick up the contract, should Eddie throw his lot in with DAZN.?

Can't see sky going into a partnership with mtk and as much as id like to see Some of the small hall promoters get a piece of the pie I think sky will look to be in with high end promoters who are regularly making and dealing with world champions.

    They are a massive management company. Have offices around the world. In terms of football for instance they represent;

Aymeric Laporte, Nathan Ake, Joe Gomez, Harvey Barnes, Johne Stones.previosuly represented Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen and Roy Keane.

They represent numerous basketball players and NFl guys. They are one of the biggest sports groups in the World. To the extent they have purchase Sauerland for millions and not batted an eye lid.

Some background in boxing they represented George Groves and Anthony Ogogo. Charlie Simms previously worked there and they had a relationship with all the Simms Gym boxers like Connor Benn and Cheeseman etc.

The fact they have entered the market is likely the reason Eubank joined Sauerland in the first place. I think the likely candidate is Wasserman to work with Matchroom either through Sky or through DAZN. The fact Eddie has put Eubank on the May card makes me think there is some relationship there. Will be interesting to see if this takes off. As if they can grab 3 or 4 big fighters they will be a major force.

Yeah I agree. I have a feeling a suitable site fee wont be forthcoming till later in the year till after Eddie has left Sky and Fury has been out the ring for nearly two years.

Interesting move, hopefully it means more fights we all want to see happen going ahead.

I have no idea what may or may not come of this but one thing worth saying is Brook vs Eubank Jnr would be an absurd fight to launch with, if that is actually their intention as alluded to in one of the earlier posts.

A semi-retired and over the hill career welterweight, on a PPV vs a fighter who's last 6 fights were at super middleweight?

    No thanks.

If their current roster consists of Breidis (36 years old, unlikely to do much at HW, top fighter but limited appeal) Hrgovic (potentially world class but totally unknown) and Eubank Jnr (a big name but not very good and rapidly becoming irrelevant) I think they will have to spend a lot more money to entice other fighters.

Good news. The more broadcast companies show interest and the more money they invest in the sport the better.

Oh yes the boxing heavyweight attractions that are Breidis, Eubank Jr and the other guy.

Come on mate. They've purchased Sauerland's poxy stable for peanuts most likely. They were purposefully coy about the actual numbers involved.

There were no details about what actually will happen. It was just very vague. Kalle sitting there smiling like an idiot rambling on whilst saying nothing of note isn't anything new so I wouldn't go by what he says.
