Yep. There were plenty of fights there for Norris 6lbs north at middleweight but he chose to give the big boys a wide berth and beat up less talented guys or smaller men at Jnr middle.
Norris was a big fish in a little pond. He blew a couple of years of his prime fighting Luis Santana instead of facing the best middleweights in the world or taking meaningful challenges against guys who would have been competitive with him (Tito) and got DQ'ed too many times for it to be coincidence. Still, he ended paying a heavy price in retirement so I feel he suffered enough not to take a pasting from as formidable a pairing as Hagler and Monzon!
We already have Louis-Carnera as ironclad evidence of what happens when a great little 'un (under 6'2, under 200 pounds) faces an average super heavyweight. Case dismissed.
Except for maybe Tyson vs Wilder, I don’t really see any of them as being mismatches. Some good matchups there.
Yeah, maybe. Curry went off the rails. Honeyghan was limited. Calzaghe v Hagler, would have been great to be fair.
Carnera-Bowe Marciano-Tyson Marciano-Tua And since some people are doing cross-weight-class matchups: Monzon-Qawi.
