Jones looked awful v Tyson and ran a lot in that bout however he was bigger than everybody he ever fought at 160, could he really meet ODH in a catchweight bout? Roy Jones Jr, 52, wants to fight Oscar De La Hoya ... - The Sun
If these 2 old men want to make a few dollars then have at it. I guess RJJ could still make 175, if De La Hoya wanted to move up.
I doubt either could hurt the other. Why not make it happen? As long as they don’t get any ideas about fighting talented younger guys. That would be a disaster for both men. Didn’t they make enough money or save their money? I know Tyson spent his but has all that weed business money these days. I will watch but only as a curiosity.
How he looked after the Tyson exhibition, I thought he had figured out it was over. He must've forgot! Wish he could just do color commentary instead.
Roy knows it's over and has done for a long time, these exhibitions bouts have nothing to do with legacy or pride.
If anybody else here is like me 50 or over you know its not there anymore and I say this as somebody still running 4 to 6 miles a day
Someone really needs to sit Roy down and tell him to stop now. Maybe RJ can tell RJJ that it’s over, because coming from RJ it might finally sink in.
I'd guestimate that they are approximately in the same weight class at the moment. I would not want to see either of these in the ring ever again. Same goes with Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and any other grandfather. On the other hand, a UFC wrestler is making big money with a youtuber challenging him into a "boxing" match. While hundreds of pro boxers are making nothing. Weird times.
I guess he knows he can pick up easy money and not get hurt fighting these fights. His knees seem completely gone now. Not even in a boxing sense, but just walking around he looks to be struggling.
He did not look like a man who just made easy money at the end of the Tyson fight. He had the face of a man who had just seen a little blood in the toilet and was wondering whether he should make a doctor's appointment or if he had to go to the ER.
