Evander Holyfield at 199, could have cleaned out most of our top ten.

Heavyweights, Canelo couldn`t fight a 199lbs fighter, maybe he would have done okay sparring with Holy, but the power and reach difference would have been gigantic.

I had mean't might Holyfield KO Canelo? Cos if Canelo will not be KOed, he will win on cards. We do know.
Might Canelo evade to get down vs Holy 12 rounds?

Holyfield would do absolutely **** all in today's sport for 3 reasons

    1. He had a glass jaw
    2. VADA testing
    3. He'd get bashed up while he's fighting for the British title against the likes of Nathan Gorman

Why on earth would anybody have been smoking something to suggest that?

Evander was around 210 pounds in the early 90's, against the likes of Douglas, Foreman, Bowe and Holmes etc.

A prime, early 90's version of Evander would absolutely have been favoured over most of today's top 10.

Outside of a handful of guys, most of today's top 10 guys are B level fighters.

It's bizarre to think that a prime version of Evander wouldn't have had huge success.

What's Parker, Joyce and Hunter ever done to make you believe that they'd have given him hell?

Regarding Wilder, yes, he has huge power. But he needs time and space to land it. And when he can't his lack of technical skills leaves him very vulnerable.

A prime version of Evander would clearly be a top 3 HW today along with AJ and Fury. And I'd have made him a big favourite over AJ.

He should have retired years before he did. But the versions up to the Lewis fights would have matched up well with anybody of today.

You're making all of this sound very simple.

Usyk is a great fighter with great technical skills. But he's still somewhat unproven at the weight.

Evander faced highly skilled opponents in his career, including guys like Holmes, Byrd and Toney etc.

AJ doesn't throw better combinations than a mid 90's Tyson, even though that Tyson was faded at that point.

Wilder has huge power but is very vulnerable.

Evander fought guys with great power, including guys like Tyson x 2, Lewis x 2 and Foreman.

Fury has great reflexes, but so did the likes of Byrd.

Then we have to look at how they'd all have matched up stylistically, as well as the results and the performances of all of the guys in question.

Again, Usyk is still somewhat unproven at HW.

Wilder has struggled with low level guys until his power has bailed him out. And Fury has proven that if he can't land his power he struggles.

AJ is still trying to rebuild himself after his shock knockout to Andy Ruiz.

A prime version of Evander was better than most of the opponents of the fighters that you've put forward.

A prime version of Evander could absolutely have beaten Wilder, Aj, Fury and Usyk.

Personally, I'd have made him a favourite over Usyk, Wilder and AJ.

No Holy was too small v Bowe in their first bout, he only weighed 205lbs, he put on weight and came back stronger in the rematch weighing 212lbs, Holy looked really small as a heavybefore the rematch with Bowe, at 205 he would have been too small for the top heaves today, Fury would have bullied him in the clinch easier than Wilder.

I suspect that he is over the hill after WBSS1.
Chisora for sure had more problems with Dorticos or Briedis not vs Usyk: they does hit harder and counter hooks better ( might counter punch more effectively ).

If boxer makes mistakes, ofc Usyk might KO HW boxer.
He is too light for current large boxers era. Haye and Holyfield too are proof.

doesn't throws of course. However this was slow Mike over the hill living on remainings from 1988 th, sadly.
A.J is a large bodybuilder with better reach than Mike and Holy had, better reach than Usyk and Ruiz does have and he is a hometown fighter.
If Holyfield didn't knocks him out, he will not get cards to win I think.
For A.J only needs to keep him on distance and if fight is not comfortable, ref will do the same as with Parker.

Of course he would. He might drop one or two but he'd be favoured over them all.

The big boys today aren’t all great fighters.

AJ has suspect stamina and doesn’t like pressure.

Wilder has poor technical ability and is extremely vulnerable when he’s not able to land his power.

There’s only Fury who is huge with great technical ability and movement.

A prime version of Evander from the early 90’s would have to have been favoured over AJ and Wilder.

Those 2 would never have destroyed him from the outside.

Usyk isn’t bigger than Evander. They’re the same size.

Yes, size matters in boxing. But as we’ve seen all throughout the history of the sport, the right blend of styles and attributes can overcome even huge disparities in size.

    He was 210 against Douglas.

I’d take the version who fought Douglas over most of today’s top 10 guys.
