Timing. The divisions were garbage. Crawford didn't have tough guys in his path. Burns? Indongo? Diaz? Jean? The current 140 class at least has Taylor, Prograis, Ramirez... A level above what Crawford feasted on. Like I said... Postol is his best win.
Crawford did what he had to do in two divisions. Cotto has arguably never been the number 1 in any division ever.
Around 2 or 3 in terms of scalp. Probably his greatest win though, given the stage of his career. I bet against him when he faced Oscar. I bet against him v Hatton. And Cotto. I have never bet against him since. But I would have to bet against him if he fought Bud.
It would be his best win and it would make him a top 20 ATG considering his age. I'll be impressed just seeing him getting in the ring with Crawford. He's been beating around the bush for years.
Crawford scores more points with his right hand than DLH did, DLH was too one-handed. Oscar`s two best wins at 147 were v Whitaker and Quartey, both were isputed decisions with Oscar hitting the floor v Quartey, Whitaker, Pernell was around 34 v DLH and lost decisively to Trinidad in his next bout, Bud is still in his prime.
Morales wouldn`t have stood a chance v Bud at welter is what Luft is saying, Bud is more difficult a foe because he is bigger and stronger than Morales was and he`s knocked welter`s while Manny`s KO rate isn`t that good at welter and Morales never knocked out a welter. Bud has a 74 in (188 cm) reach. Many boxing pundits felt that an aging Morales, fighting a couple of divisions above his best weight, stood little chance against the hard hitting Maidana. However, Morales turned back the clock and gave his best performance since beating Pacquiao. The opening bell saw Maidana jump on the older Morales. Morales' eye was badly swollen in the first round by a series of hard shots, especially a devastating uppercut, and it looked like the rout was on. However, Morales held his own through the next few rounds before rallying in the 8th–10th rounds. Although Maidana was using combos to hurt "El Terrible," Morales started turning the tide mid-fight, throwing very heavy counter-punches and almost knocking Maidana down. However, just when the fight seemed within Morales' grasp, Maidana took over by throwing combos, giving him the final rounds of the fight. Morales put up a valiant effort, performed better than anyone thought possible, won the crowd over and gave the boxing public another "Fight of the Year" candidate. However, it just wasn't enough. In the end, Maidana's youth and Morales' age and mileage were just too much to overcome, and Maidana eked out a majority decision victory with scores of 114–114 and 116–112 twice.
Yes. I had mean't his popularity, he turned into a pro as Oly champ, had rocked 31-0-0 pro record with 10-0-0 record in world title fights before his first lost fight vs famous fighter. After this he still remained popular and now also long years does have this GBP promotion and boxers. I talked about things how long time he is well known in the world and like this. He was " Golden Boy ".
I guess that’s why he had to exclude pound for pound. Morales is leagues above Crawford in every way. But it just goes to show that people need to make up ways to make Crawford look better then he actually is.
In every way? Bud is a far better finisher than Morales was and gets hit less. Bud is a great switch-hitter too.
Excuse me for being a little dramatic with wording. Morales is better in most ways. TC gets hit less because his level of competition is much lower. Point is, saying TC would be the best fighter Manny beats is silly.
Mean Machine is a good boxer, knocked down Crawford and gave him absolute hell. I do not know (at all)that Crawford beats the Cotto that Pac fought.
