Foster wouldn't have done bad I believe against most of his opponents. He beats Ketch by savage ko. Jeffries is a interesting one. He's old and past it, surely Foster stops him??!

Foster was kayoed by almost every heavy he fought. He would here too. Always trying to remake history for heros.

You don't need to be Ali or Frazier to beat Foster at HW. I don't fancy him beating Frank Moran to be honest, let alone better HWs Johnson faced.

Johnson`s opponents were smaller than Ali, Tyrell and Frazier, none of Johnson`s opponents punched like Frazier, none of them were 6`5 like Tyrell except Willard who was easier to hit than Tyrell and none of them were as good or as durable as Ali.

I think he punched harder than Burns and he had a much longer reach and jab.

Bob Foster kills Burns and Stanley Ketchel. Willard beats Bob ,a prime Jefferies beats Foster, that old one? I don't know

The problem is that Foster was not just losing to Ali and Frazier.

He was losing to guys like Doug Jones as well.

Great as he was at light heavyweight, he obviously didn't carry up to heavyweight well, and by heavyweight I mean 175lbs plus.

I just don't see him being particularly successful at heavyweight, even in a weak era.

So what? Burns didn't make it hard for Johnson and at least he was far more durable than Foster.

Johnson faced plenty of bigs, you are wrong because you only look at filmed fights (Willard and Jeffries were bigger anyway).
I think that Sam McVea could punch harder than Frazier.
But Johnson faced plenty of 6'4 fighters:

    Ray Felix
    Jim Jeffords
    Denver Ed Martin
    Jess Willard
    Sandy Ferguson

    to name a few.
So what? Bob lost to far worse HWs than Ali or Frazier, or even Terrell.

A lot of people felt Jones beat a green Ali in a close fight.

Tyrell was harder to hit due to his high guard than any of those guys and Frazier`s hook would have been harder for Foster to evade than McVea`s, no fighter in history could have moved up fromlight heavy to beat Frazier.

He was more durable because of all the clinching that was allowed back then.
