Canelo is in his prime now. He’s looking like a great fighter to me. I think a fight against Ward would have been very interesting. I’d have leant towards Ward though. I think Roy and Joe would definitely have beaten Canelo. He couldn’t have coped with their speed.
Without his illegal tactics, dodgy referees, and crooked judges, Andre Ward would have just been another mediocre fringe contender.
He can only beat Ward on title defences. I have them even on everything else. And I honestly couldn’t call a fight between them. But I think it would have had a lot of similarities to the Hopkins fight.
BJS brings that chicken grease footwork and shows up to win. Canelo will outpoint BJS in the end. Plant will come to fight too, show boat some and likely get hurt badly late. David B is the second best chance behind BJS but Canelo will prove to be the quicker and more elusive of the two—Canelo on the cards
Manfredo isn't one of his better wins and you know that, this is just poor trolling. Hell I'd rate Richie Woodhall, Byron Mitchell, Chris Eubank, Robin Reid, Charles Brewer and Mario Veit over him. A prime Bika, Kessler and Lacy aren't bad wins either huh?
Like the litany of former and current champs at the weight class he beat. He had a load of gimme defences but that was the nature of the WBO rankings at the time. Plus it seemed he was quite avoided for a long time, be it because his WBO belt wouldn't be accepted for unifications or guys ducking him.
I'm jumping in on this one cos I ****in hate when his name gets brought up lol... Think pudwill stepped in at about two days notice...I might be misremembering but I think Calzaghe was supposed to fight antwun echols??
IF Canelo becomes undisputed, i think so. But theres always going to be arguments, and comparisons to resume at 168. People are going to say on here that Lacy and Kessler trump wutever Canelo did at 168. But in era for era h2h, Calzaghe never became undisputed.
