Andre Ward would definitely be in my top 5. But it depends what criteria you use. Who would be in your top 5 or top 10? This always stirs up a great debate. Because although a guy like Sven Ottke was a multiple belt holder who had many title defences, he wouldn't make my top 3.
The fact you don't know why tells how little you know about the resumes I don't say that to be insulting either It's not close
Pit stops at 168? Jones was fighting at world level at smw longer than world level at mw Toney had more smw title fights than mw title fights. Didn't stay long at lhw and then went to CW a division of a similar age to smw
In accomplishment Calzaghe and Ottke are well above ward even if Ottke doesn't have as big a name win Eubank I would rate higher based on resume In fact at smw I think Collins has a better smw resume than ward having fought Eubank Eubank 2 Benn Benn 2 Sellier
Joe was never better than a prime version of Roy, irrespective of how many title defences he had etc.
Yeah, Ward obviously can't match their title defences. We've debated Collins' resume for almost 10 years. He was a very good fighter, but his resume looks better on paper than what it is in reality. You can't even count the first Benn win.
Roy Jones and Andre ward would have shut out Calzaghe. Carl Froch in my opinion also beats him. I think the shot Tommy Hearns and SRL at 168 in 1989 both beat him....Tommy probably by KO definetly by sustained beating The James Toney wo beat Barkley and Williams defo beats him too and makes him look bad It could be touch and go in places with a prime balls to the wall Benn but Ill give joe that one. A real shame Steve Collins didnt take the fight (assumming he would have gone in the same mentality and condition he did eubanks/benn) cos that would have been another great pick em.
