Just watching Eddie's latest interview with IFL TV.
Kugan says there's rumours rife on social media about Eddie leaving (Sky). I haven't seen these rumours though. Maybe I've completely missed it.

Eddie replied "a decision will be made in two weeks".

Bold move if he decides to leave Sky.

Joshua has a 10-fight deal with Sky or something like that, so I assume the PPV fights will stay on Sky and the Saturday Night Fight nights will move to DAZN.

Don't see myself subscribing to DAZN. Will be hard to convince my Mum considering the cost of a Sky and BT Sport subscription.

At least streams exist I guess.

Yes Eh Day should take his whole stable to the Zone along with the Pony Announcer and the entire Sky commentary team.

Sky should start again with the recruitment of a professional boxing commentary team and give deals to MTK Global and Fat Mick.

Grass won’t be much greener: Big Mick would be straight on the PPV wagon to recoup previous losses after the disastrous ‘YouTube PPV’.

In fact, They would all turn to PPV in a heartbeat but only Hearn seems to possess the knowledge and skills to make it into a successful business model within the UK.

No chance in hell he leaves Sky.
Hearn’s entire business model in the UK has been about building PPV stars and the income that generates. With puddings like Chisora and Whyte raking in a fortune, and fighters like Benn, Okolie, Buatsi and Katie Taylor less than a handful of fights away from becoming the next regular PPV attractions, he’s not going to gamble on losing that almost guaranteed income stream for what is still a fledgling platform over here.

The deal might change. I expect less regular ‘Fight Night’ cards, more low budget NXTGEN and women-only shows, and a rise in PPVs, perhaps one a month UFC-style as neither Sky nor Hearn seem interested/have the budget for those anymore.

But he’s not going anywhere, especially with the 30-odd year relationship his dad has built with Sky.

    I Disagree.

They are all about making money as is everybody, but Big Mick and co are aware of fans being ripped off being one himself.

I think there will be a better life after one has gone...

Doubt he leaves Sky. If they are still in negotiations then this is a ploy to get Sky to sign.

Maybe he will have to promote a minimum number of shows on Sky and can stage the rest on DAZN?

He almost seemed upset just before the 12 minute mark like he is going to be leaving Sky. It makes sense for him to move over to DAZN if they can promise him to fund the biggest fights. He may reduce his UK emphasis in order to become the global promoter he keeps talking about.

Maybe he reduces down to 1 card a month and 2 or 3 big cards. Makes up the difference in the PPV numbers buy selling the global rights to DAZN. For instance a card like Del boy vs Parker would likely do 200k buys. Of which Sky take a 30-35% cut, leaving a likely pot of £2.8m. If DAZN for instance say they will give you £3.2m for the card to screen globally its financially better for Hearn and DAZN can split that cost between 200 countries meaning it would only cost them £16k a country to put the show on.

That's what I noticed too. He seemed kind of upset.

Maybe we shouldn't take him too seriously but it was an odd segment.

Kind of like he's disappointed that the Sky deal is ending? Who knows.
