Moorer was quite a big 175er with good, maybe great, power. But sometimes he just didn't seem to live up to his billing. I guess you'd have to pick him though; he has a lot of advantages over Canelo, not the least being he's more proven at the weight. Canelo would have to turn up with a great gameplan to be competitive.
Moorer would a bridge to far for Canelo. MM was a light heavy that ended up being a two time heavyweight champ for crying out loud. MM knocked out heavyweights and would like do the same to Canelo. I'm a fan of Canelo but he is giving up too much here.
Maybe great? Moorer had nukes in his gloves at 175. Emmanuel Steward said he was the biggest puncher he'd ever seen at light-heavyweight.
Canelo brings absolutely nothing to the fight that Moore hasn't seen before. Moore by easy UD. *EDIT* In my haste I originally read this with Archie Moore in mind, versus Moorer. I would still choose Michael Moorer over Canelo all day.
We dont know. Canelo stopped shot Krusher at 175. Thats it. Mike was pre prime at 175. But he was devastating there. My money is on Moorer because Canelo is not fighting the shot version like Kov
Kovalev was not only end-of-shelf-life, but also there to lose (IMO) and take a paycheck. I wouldn't back Alvarez against any half-decent Light Heavyweight with a point to prove.
