I believe Rock Newman told Bowe to punch Donald to help get publicity for the fight.

    Really?
That actually wouldn’t surprise me. Newman is a dirtbag. He now preaches that boxing should be banned (after he exploited Bowe and made money off him) and has apparently taken up with one of Bowe’s kids who he’d have known since she was a child. Just a manipulative, shameless and exploitive scumbag.

Bowe should have been decent enough to tell Newman to go **** himself when he suggested he slug Larry Donald for no reason. He wasn’t and whats worse he acted on it. So him being a punk and a dog for doing that still stands.

That's why I mentioned Danny Hodge, there was once talks of Hodge fighting Floyd Patterson, now in a boxing match Floyd would of wrecked him but in the street Hodge would of ripped his limbs off.

Danny Hodge was a beast man you should read up on him! I agree Rocky Marciano would be good in the street I think he's another guy that would do better in the street than the ring, he probably would of been an MMA fighter instead of boxer if born later in life. For lighter weight yeah Carl Froch would be pretty handy and I'd bet on him to take Ward in the street. Another lighter guy would be Bobby Chacon, I remember on a build up to one of his fights this guy from his hood said something along the lines of "You wouldn't believe how many guys I've seen Bobby knock out by this store!"

Carl Thompson, Julian Jackson, Matthew Saad Muhammad and Arturo Gatti would of been guys not to cross outside the ring too.

In a streetfight, I like the odds in favor of Liston, Dempsey, Lyle, Ibaebuchi, Bowe, Mercer and possibly Tua.

Probably loads of 3rd rate heavyweights beat Tyson (and other ATGs) in a street fights but wouldn't last long in a boxing match.
Lots of journeymen-level types are probably much better street fighters than they are boxers. Just brawling tough guys.

Technical "punchers" have a problem in street fights anyway because they hit so hard and without gloves they tend to break their own hands or sprain their wrists.

    A lot of ppl.
The peek a boo is beautiful for certain boxer types but it is not best choice if kicks are allowed.

That's if the boxer knows how to kick properly, go back and watch Elijah Tillery and Bowe kicking each other in their first fight...

Dillian Whyte, Carl Thompson, James Warring, Vitali Klitschko, Alexander Povetkin, Matt Skelton and Alexander Ustinov had Kickboxing/Muay Thai backgrounds.

I do know this of course.
A lot of boxers before boxing were also/ or kick boxers or MT guys.
I might list damn damn long and boring list.

The difference between are there kicks allowed or no is things you are watching for.

For example I love to use high extended guard and for KB it is damn different thing than for boxing.
I had did both: KB and boxing. Streetfight is not the same but actually not about this.
U should do know a lot of things useless for boxer if you fight vs kick boxer.
Yeah, boxers like Povetkin, Briedis, Ustinov, Huck does come from KB background and not only these.

The difference is relatively big. Guys like Mike or Usyk are not former KBers.

I had initially KB and later boxing.
It is not so easy. Well, gym is one thing, fight is another. " Wtf you do have so low output? ", " Damn, do not waste time with this and wtf what you are watching here? " like this. This if from KB to boxing.

I think all of you dismissing jack dempsey are taking the ppiss.........by that i mean you are talking the ppiss factor away......jack used to soak his hands and face in all kinds of weird stuff to toughen his skin and knuckles including urine at one point....these were mean rough tough times the 1910s .....mike himself is the worlds greatest authority on jack dempsey....devon you keep mentioning grappling in the street.....jujitsu guards and holds are nullified by bollox grabs and biting....mikes street fight in 2005/6 where he demolished the 2 burly mexicans who said " you got fists but we got gunz" shows even in his 40th year his knuckles could knockout 2 big men and hold up easy.....i think jack has a real chance....and both would ve fighting dirty
