Agreed. They know what they're doing. I can't see all parties being so greedy/incompetent that they let a fight of this magnitude fall through.

Can you stop being vapid for once please

    Exactly.

Why is Hearn doing all the leg work?

It seems unfair that Fury's promoters will put zero effort into this, put up zero cash and guarantees and end up getting 20% of his purse.

Do we know that for a fact or is that just the accepted narrative now after Hearn's recent comments?

Hearn is just really quick off the mark with the media and knows how to set an agenda. It's clearly working as this narrative appears to have been accepted by many people with basically no proof aside from what Hearn himself has said.

AJ has the belts but Tyson Fury is the bigger draw at this moment. Frank Warren knows that and is reveling in it. Eddie Hearn knows that, too, and it's probably killing him inside. I'm 99% sure the problem is related to that.

No "worthy venues" made me laugh. Much of Europe and the Arab peninsula is struggling with another COVID wave, but he UK seems to be in good shape getting COVID under control. Even leaving aside COVID - was there ever a fight hat was better-made for the UK market than this one?

I think Tyson is the bigger draw here, because he still hasn't lost his zero and got to Wilder first.

If you think AJ /Hearn can get a bigger payday than a Fury fight now or even in the next six months - even if they split that purse evenly - then please tell me name of that opponent.

The inverse can be said, what other opponent would give Fury a bigger pay day than Joshua ?

Fury has never even defended his title. Unless you count his imaginery "lineal" title.

He has never filled a stadium

He has never done the numbers Joshua did

He does not have the same PPV fights as Joshua

He has been given a free ride by a promoter who was nearly bankrupt a few years ago and now wants to cash in on Fury's name.

Have to think about the context - Hearn has a show this week so he's being interviewed daily. Hence plenty of opportunity to give soundbytes and set the narrative how he'd like it. It's working really well.

Until we know for a fact that Warren/Top Rank aren't doing their bit, it's naïve to assume Hearn is telling the whole truth.

Bob Arum and Frank Warren has already sorted Vegas but AJ is too scared to go to America after he quit.

You are raising a good point. But here is why Frank/Fury still are in control

    - Frank has a lot fewer "entaglements" with media syndicators (DAZN, Sky, etc.). He can play the waiting game. Eddie Hearn has got to deliver these groups big-money fights
    - Outside of AJ - Hearn hasn't got a HW boxer that is capable of landing a big money fight in the next few months. The buzz around Usyk has subsided for now. There's lots of buzz around Dillian Whyte - but he's in limbo with the WBC awaiting a fight with Wilder...that nobody believes is going to happen anytime soon given where Wilder's head is at. Joseph Parker isn't a huge draw. Zhang fizzled out. Yes - there are a couple of guys like Hrgovic and Fabil Wardley who *could* become big draws...but not immediately. And if you travel down Hearn's roster - once you get beyond that split arrangement with Canelo - it's just a mess of fighters who have had difficulty getting fights made for them (e.g. Andrade, GGG).
    - There's little doubting that Tyson Fury has a dynamic personality and there's always that air of mystery about whether or not he's going to fly completely off the handle. It's much easier to sell a one-sided fight featuring him than AJ.

    So here's the punchline...

Fury/Warren finally got around to delivering a good HW payday for the WBC after years of Haymon/DiBella/Wilder doing next-to-nothing for them. I can't imagine they think a Whyte-Wilder fight is actually going to happen. I'm sure DiBella/Wilder would take money to step aside. And at that point - what's left? Well it's a Whyte-Fury fight. That's a pretty big money fight, but the split would be much more favorable for Warren/Fury than Hearn/AJ. Whyte hasn't seen a good payday for quite some time - so if Hearn doesn't make that fight - there's every chance Dillian would leave him.

At least this is how I see it.

Las Vegas is another problem for Eddie because: a) Despite having a relationship with both GGG and Canelo - he still couldn't deliver a 3rd fight between the two b) A fight between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia would have been a big payday but didn't get made despite Hearn having what seemed like a close relationship with Golden Boy.

Eddie seems pretty overextended at the moment and isn't delivering for his partners. Vegas will not be doing him any favors.
