The Gvozdyk win trumps whatever Joe Smith has done.

Gvozdyk beat the most dangerous man at LHW - Adonis Stevenson who could put your lights out at any moment with ONE punch - by putting him into a coma.

    Smith beat contenders.

Gvozdyk alone is already better as Joe Smith himself, and I would also favor Kalajdzic over Joe.
Kalajdzic might be one of the most underrated LHW's at this time.

Beterbiev's resume is a bit thin, certainly taking into account he KO'd former champs Cloud and Campillo in his first 8 fights, making him one of the most fasttracked fighters in his early career.

Not only would Joe beat Kalajdzic, but so would Eleider Alvarez and Vlasov. I like Hot Rob, but the man is limited as hell, and yes, far more limited than Joe.

    Strongly disagree.
He is a technically good boxer, who basically outboxed everyone he fought save for Beterbiev.
Current Vlasov is still slightly better as Smith, but not enough to beat Kalajdzic imo, and Alvarez might win on a good night, be he's always been hot and cold.

Who? Lionel Thompson and Marcus Browne, who Joe Smith would probably kill in the ring? And let's be honest, both of those were kind of squeakers, even though I had Hot Rod winning both. Vlasov and Alvarez would mangle him. Not sure why, ut you're overrating the **** out him.

Are we forgetting the part Beterbiev became the man at LHW by beating a far superior LHW to Smith?

Thompson wasn't as close as the cards indicate and Browne was onesided as hell. Browne only survived because the referee was clearly on his side, and he was allowed to grab and hold like it was WWF.
Kalajdzic vs Browne on neutral soil would have been either a wide UD, DQ or stoppage for HotRod. It's one of the most blatant home cooking fights of the last decade... I thought you were aware of that?!

I literally watched it again last week, IB put up a thread on it, I had Hot Rod winning by a point, and that's with a point deduction for Thompson. It would have been a draw otherwise. Of course he should have beaten Browne and the ref helped, but Browne is also dog****. So that still didn't impress me much, since I predicted Hot Rod would beat him and get robbed, because Browne is such ****. And of course I'm aware of it, I did the RBR for it.

Gvozdyk would have butchered Joe Smith Jr

    Pedigree counts.

I think it would be a good fight for a few rounds at least. Kalajdzic would have some success with his size, range and obviously superior boxing ability. But Smith would more than likely eventually grind him down for the stoppage. He's nowhere near as durable as Vlasov - nor is he anywhere near as awkward.

It's so crappy that Gvozdyk retired on a loss.

Beterbiev also has Campillo and Cloud and.......Smith has had his jaw shattered (literally) twice and losses vs. a top 10 guy in Barrera and the person that is either 1 or 2 at the weight in Bivol.

    This isn't very close.

I think Beterbiev might be relieved some what that Joe Smith won and not Vlasov as Vlasov is much more of a stylistic problem for him than Joe. I give Smtih little chance in beating Artur. He throws way to wide and is easy to counter. Thats not adding the fact he doesnt have good footwork either.
