Jermell Charlo vs Brian Castano IS ON for July 17th!

Good fight look forward to seeing Tim Tszyu take out the winner.

 

An ok fighter who just happened into a title. If Castano was elite this fight wouldn't have been made so easy, in fact it probably would never have happened period.

 

Castano is actually a very good fighter, but you can't beat Little twin with his style IMO. You're not gonna pressure and break a Charlo. That's what they want. You have to outbox and befuddle both Charlos, that's always been their Achilles heel. Charlo will win this one. Very good fight though.

 

Very much look forward to this fight. Castano is tough, has a great motor, and throws leather in bunches. I think his pressure will bring some early success, but I think he'll eventually be walked into something mid-rounds that hurts him, and Charlo closes the show.

 

Flat footed, predictable slugger, small and immobile, tailor made for the bigger Charlo. I’ll watch but this fight doesn’t get Charlo in the top ten PFP no matter what happens. Good fight and it could be interesting at times but I don’t see this guy beating Charlo and I’m not a Charlo fan.

That "South American bum" has a world title (making this a unification fight), victories on the road against Micheal Soro and Cedric Vitu, arguably should have a win over Lara, and a win over Derevyenchenko in WSB. Dude's legit and if Mell doesn't bring his A game he's going to get outworked badly. Even if Mell does bring his A game, it's still close to a toss-up, imo.

It's one versus two in the division for all the belts. Can't ask for more than that in this sport.

 

I'm suprised by the lack of respect Castano is getting here. He's a very good inside fighter who can keep up a ferocious pace throughout the 12. Hope he gets up here.
