Byrd was tricky, he could beat Sharkey especially if Jack had an off-night. 50-50 fight to me. Sharkey would probably pressure him, as he wouldn't have to fear about Byrd's power.
Could see it going either way really. Both are spoilers with lots of good wins. I would favor Sharkey slightly.
did Sharkey EVER fight a southpaw? Byrd probably has every physical advantage, then it's probable that he would be the only southpaw Sharkey had ever been in the ring with, it would likely be a mismatch.
No, Byrd faced guys like: Arthur Williams (6'2, 203 lbs) - didn't stop him Uriah Grant (6'1.5, 200 lbs) - didn't stop him David Washington (6'1, 205 lbs) - TKO in 10th round to name a few.
That's interesting question, I'd like to see the answer for that. I didn't know that shorter reach is physical advantage.
I'm tired of denying what my eyes, eyes that have watched 4 decades of boxing, participated in a handful of years, tell me. This is what I see. Byrd clowning and abusing Sharkey. Too fast, too skilled, too slick, fought far more effective opponents in a head to head sense. Sharkey doesn't bring a thing that Byrd didn't see in the ring. The contrary can not be said. I can troll with the best, but this isn't a troll.
Are you for real? Sharkey fought some of the most dangerous punchers in history. Chris Byrd is not going to look like a formidable puncher to him!
