Don King should have been arrested for putting Duran in with Joppy. Any others?

Horribly overmatched opponents on the down-end of their career used as a 'name' to buff up an opponent?

Joppy should have turned down the fight.

That reminds me of that Bernard Hopkins rant.

"Tell Felix Trinidad and his father to stop pussyfooting with the dick. If they want to get fvcked all they need to do is knock on the door and they'll get their shot. Trinidad didn't just get beat he got knocked out…and I know his father doesn't like to hear these words, but if his son wants to become a champion at middleweight he needs to see me…I came at him the same way he came at Oscar by telling them to switch the names and we have a fight, and I kicked that ass without controversy. He wanted Oscar De La Hoya to do something he wasn't willing to do with me, so that should show you how stupid and scared they are…I love sticking it to them, because all that you need to ask him is, Did Bernard Hopkins kick your son’s ass? ****, his son probably kicked his ass when they got home for putting him in there with that kind of animal. What Trinidad Sr. did to his son is considered child abuse in some states. Trinidad's father should have been institutionalized for putting his son in there with me. Every time he brings my name up he needs to look at that tape to know what kind of man and what kind of athlete Bernard Hopkins is. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is who regrets it more, Trinidad, Trinidad Sr. or Don King?

A promoter that puts Tommy Morrison in there should probably be jailed.

What about that tart who sprmoted Aaron Pryor, who was reported blind in one eye, saying: "He's still got another eye" or words to that effect. What a uselss *****. She should have been arrested, jailed and forced to watch the last 10 Bernard Hopkins fights for such a heinous crime.

I think it is a crime to make Pacquiao - Barrera II. Barrera is going to get hurt, badly.

Why? If he is HIV+ as long as they are sensible there is very little risk.

I always find it disappointing that Panama Lewis has been forgiven by quite a few for his part in the Billy Collins Jr tragedy.

I do not think Mesi or Valero should be fighting though

Might be a little different than what's being asked for, but Oscar De La Hoya beating the **** out of his childhood hero Chavez is up there.

He went on about how he respected the man to no end and even idolized him when he was younger... And then he goes and beats the **** out of him twice.

The first fight was fine. Chavez was the linear champ @ 140 (though clearly not the best fighter in the division) and it was a "passing of the torch". Guys beating their heros is not something new in boxing. Hell, it's sometimes a favor to give their hero a payday (like Robinson-Armstrong).

The rematch, however, was totally unnecessary, just a way to make big money on the Mexican holiday. Oscar claimed the rematch was necessary "so Chavez will respect me".

    Bleh... I don't know.

I love Marciano, for example, but knowing he went in there and beat the **** our of an old, shell of his former self Louis makes me think... Crying in the dressing room or not. Why fight your idol? Why beat up a guy who was a paragon of so many things to you a few years earlier?

It's a tough sport and business. Business first, then friendship.

Besides, Louis and Armstrong were the ones who asked Marciano and Robinson for the fights because they needed money.

Is Rocky supposed to say "I'm not going to further my own career and life, I'm not going to help you out, because I looked up to you"??

If Marciano refuse the Louis fight, a title shot would have been delay. It was either fight Louis or dont fight him and miss the title shot perhaps. Also Louis needed the money. I dont know why people get onto fighters for beating old fighters. Its a combat sport. What do you expect them to do?? Bring rosese or something.

I thought Chavez-Taylor II was unnecessary and played up way beyond what it could possibly have become. The only reason Taylor wasn't out of there sooner was because Chavez took his time. Yes, he too was on the downside of his career, but every time he hit Taylor (who was D-O-N-E) at that stage, he shook. Couple that with the fact that Taylor by that time had been fighting at 147 for some time and had to pare down, and you have a horrible mismatch on your hands.

Jones Jr. vs Frazier. The santioning body that made him a mandatory should have their title thrown in the trash can. Bowe avoiding Lewis was different.
