Bold statement. Daring today aren’t we? Are you going to follow it up with such classics as: Boy, sure is hot/cold out here today The sun is bright Water is wet
Let's be real here, many of the fighters people say were the greatest fought in a time before cameras or video, so you kind of just have to take their word for how good they were.
Chavez Sr. has Pac as the GOAT. Erik Morales has Pac as the GOAT. Barrera has Pac as the GOAT. Three absolute legends of the ring calling Pac the GOAT. No one has called Floyd the GOAT.
Your a casual, losses come with the territory, non escape it unless they cherrypick. You fight regularly enough without the advantage of being able to pick and your taking losses, end of. Pac has accomplished more than Mayweather easily
This ain't a Clenelo thread. Also, your people got Pac as the GOAT. Chavez Sr. has Pac as the GOAT. Erik Morales has Pac as the GOAT. Barrera has Pac as the GOAT. Three absolute legends of the ring calling Pac the GOAT.
The man that went 173-19-6 2 no contests with 109 wins by KO. Undefeated in his first 40 fights. Avenging his first loss in his next fight and then going on a 91 fight unbeaten streak. Pac, Mayweather or whomever the next silly threadster wants to proclaim the GOAT, doesn't come close.
Pac cherrypicked. He waited for PBF to get old and lost to a shot PBF badly. Bad losses don't come with the territory that's what you fail to realize. Drawing with Sanchez losing to a shot Erik Morales losing to a no hoper in Torrecampo and a bum in Horn do not make you the Goat and will be held against you when accessing greatness. Only a casual who just started watching boxing would say a fighter like Pac is the GOAT. Much better and greater boxers out there than Pac those are Facts!
Chavez, Morales, and Barrera are casuals? Hopkins, Mikey, Porter, and Mares all have said they'd rather have Pac's career over Floyd's. Taylor and Ryan Garcia both said Pac's their hero. Only Mayweather fans call Pac a cherrypicker. Yet plenty of fighters call out Floyd for cherrypicking.
Wrong! PBF isn't even close to the GOAT he's not even a top 10 ATG I have never claimed that he was. I claimed he was the best of the era and better than Pac which is true. What you're doing is trying to re-write history and make it out like Pac is some guy who was unbeatable with an ATG ring IQ jab defense speed reflexes power with no real weaknesses who took on all comers and destroyed them all. You're trying to make Pac better than he actually was. Well too bad for you I saw Pac fight and while he was great he wasn't better than guys like Pea PBF SRL Duran and Ali for starters. Pac has longevity much like Hopkins but you don't see me or others running around trying to say he was the GOAT now do you?
LMFAO! These guys don't like PBF as a person and can't be taken seriously when discussing him, might as well be a bunch of posters here like you with opinions on him. I can name many fighters who say PBF is greater as well. What matters is what media says and historians. ESPN best 25 boxers of the past 25 years and you guessed it PBF was ranked #1 https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/14970037/ranking-top-25-pound-pound-boxers-25-years The Ring did a list of the best boxers since WW2 and guess what Pac wasn't even ranked but PBF was and this was before PBF-Pac even fought. PBF was 12th and would easily move up that list since he schooled Pac. The October issue of Ring surveyed many boxing writers and historians on the greatest fighters of the Modern Era (post-WWII). They were each asked to rank the 20 greatest fighters with 1st receiving 20 points, 2nd receiving 19, 3rd receiving 18, etc... with first place votes bracketed. The top 20 is as follows (HT to chrismart83 on scene): 1. Ray Robinson - 396pts - (17) 2. Henry Armstrong - 339 - (1) 3. Muhammad Ali - 324 - (1) 4. Roberto Duran - 296 5. Joe Louis - 293 6. Ray Leonard - 258 7. Willie Pep - 246 - (1) 8. Archie Moore - 189 9. Julio Cesar Chavez - 171 10. Ezzard Charles - 164 11. Pernell Whitaker - 132 12. Floyd Mayweather Jr - 118 13. Marvin Hagler - 117 14. Carlos Monzon - 98 15. Eder Jofre - 86 16. Sandy Saddler - 82 17. Roy Jones Jr - 80 18. Rocky Marciano - 77 19. Bernard Hopkins - 66 20. Ike Williams - 55 Others receiving votes: Charley Burley - 53 Evander Holyfield - 42 George Foreman - 41 Billy Conn - 39 Larry Holmes - 36 Manny Pacquiao - 36 Kid Galivan - 28 Salvador Sanchez - 28 Emile Griffith - 27 Jose Napoles - 27 Holman Williams - 27 Mike Tyson - 26 Joe Frazier - 22 Alexis Arguello - 20 Marcel Cerdan - 20 Carlos Ortiz - 20 Ricardo Lopez - 19 Jake LaMotta - 17 Ruben Olivares - 17 Pascual Perez - 12 Marco Antonio Barrera - 9 Oscar De La Hoya - 9 Michael Spinks - 9 Tommy Hearns - 7 Miguel Canto - 5 Bob Foster - 5 Jimmy Bivins - 4 Lennox Lewis - 4 Sammy Angott - 3 Authors and historians surveyed were: Ron Borges (Ring), Bernard Fernandez (Ring), Doug Fischer (Ring), Norm Frauenhiem (Ring), Lee Groves (Tales from the Vault), Craig Hamilton (Historian), Thomas Hauser (Author), Kevin Iole (Yahoo Sport), Matt McGrain (Historian), Clay Moyle (Author), Martin Mulcahey (Historian), Patrick Myler Author), Jack Obermayer (Writer), Adam Pollack (Author), Cliff Rold (Historian), Michael Rosenthal (Ring), Mike Silver (Author), Tim Smith (Ring), Springs Toledo (Author), Anson Wainwright (Writer).
