He can't be the GOAT when he wasn't even seen as the best fighter in his own era. At no time when both pbf and pac were both active was he seen as better. Many in this thread including you don't even think Crawford is good let alone great. People like you and others on this very thread have criticized his resume saying who has be beat? Look on the flip side, Pac was almost always the smaller man, had all the disadvantages in 126 and above, while Floyd had all the advantages even at 147. Pacman wins over JMM were much clearer than Canelo's "wins" over GGG or Lara and yet nobody criticises Canelo for it. Floyd had his whole career well planned and fought fighters who were outside their prime whenever possible, the older he got himself. He is the smartest boxer of the generation in how he adapted his style with his failing hands and how he maximised every ounce of his ability but Pacman's achievements are greater imo, how can you criticise Pac for losing to Floyd? That was his 8th weight class, Floyd was the bigger man in most of his bouts and only seriously been a part of 4 weight classes. Yes, Floyd was arguably better at lower weights but so was Pacquiao and he didn't have the size of Floyd.

I think they both should be rated similarly on ATG lists but I don't know how people can say Floyd is clearly the greater boxer

 

I can criticize him for losing to pbf because for one he beat bigger men than pbf and two many people claimed pbf was scared of pac and of they ever fought pac would overwhelm him with speed power workrate and angles but it never happened even against a shot pbf. I knew pbf was greater and the better fighter because I knew pac struggled or lost to guys pbf wouldn't lose a round to. It's not like pbf didn't move up in weight himself he went through 5 weights and was linear in 4 of them and had Hatton found his balls and didn't turn him down at 140 after he beat zoo he would have had 5.

Pac gets too much credit for his wins and moving up but not enough criticism of his losses. He fought fighters at catchweights and past their primes but gets passes because he's more well liked. You can't be greater than another fighter when both were active you weren't seen as greater or better. I backed up my argument with proof from respected media and boxing historians at the end of the day mean more than yours or my opinion.

Margo is a slow starting no jab no defense slow as **** plodder who would be beat to the punch and countered to hell and back all night long. Pbf outlands this guy in power punches and his connect % is over 50%. Pbfs extreme advantage in speed and reflexes can't be understated. Margo isn't going to outland pbf nor is he going to outpoint him nor is he going to knock him out either better fighters than margo couldn't get the job done how does he win? Hate???
