One of my sons in law is from Essex and he doesn't speak like that. I can understand him (most of the time), except when he talks about

People from Essex don't sound like that at all. They have a much duller and monotone voice with a lot less flavour. Hearn has an off brand attempt at a Cockney accent of sorts.
