Whyte did well. Comes back from a heavy ko loss to defeat Povetkin. Can’t do any better than that. Not every card sets the world on fire. This is one of the reasons I love boxing. Nothing is a given, you can have the worst paper match in the world, and until the bell rings, you never know. I will pay to watch Whyte every time he fights, he brings value, and will fight to the end come what may.

Dillian Whyte does not need to be the best in sport to be a PPV fighter, the numbers speak for themselves.

28 July 2018: Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker – 474,000
22 December 2018: Dillian Whyte vs. Dereck Chisora II – 438,000
20 July 2019: Dillian Whyte vs. Oscar Rivas – 286,000
22 August 2020: Dillian Whyte vs Alexander Povetkin (177,000 to 222,000 – unconfirmed)

    Compare that with

31 August 2019: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Luke Campbell – 205,000
26 October 2019: Josh Taylor vs. Regis Prograis – 176,000

Whyte has literally come from nothing and built this platform for himself and from the numbers he has generated he clearly has mass market appeal and has maintained the audiences attention.

Why wouldn't his fights be on PPV ? He generates over 200,000+ buys a fight and anyone promoting him or in similar position would be looking to maximise their and his earning potential.

It's no different than any other profession, it's highly unlikely that Dwayne Johnson will ever win an Oscar for any of his acting performances but that has not stopped him from becoming one of the highest paid actors in the world.

I remember when he called out Haye immediately after he'd got chinned by Bellew again. No class.

I agree. He then adds that fighter to the list of who he believes have ducked him, and he genuinely believes they have.

Michael Hunter or Carlos Takam next wouldn't surprise me, probably in Hearn's back garden. I'd pick him to lose to both

I don't mind Whyte. The wbc screwed him big time though.

Takam's best wins: 44 year old Botha, 41 year old Michael Grant, 43 year old Thompson, Senad Gnashi.

Takam's losses: Chisora, Joshua, Povetkin, Parker and Tony.

Whyte's best wins: Chisora x 2 (who knocked Takam spark out), Helenius, 38 year old Browne, Parker, Rivas, Wach and 41 year old Povetkin.

    Whyte's losses: Joshua and Povetkin.

Absolutely nothing suggests that prime Takam beats Whyte and Hunter is overrated because people find him inoffensive to their modus operandi. Whyte's record absolutely dumps all over Takam.

Lopez vs Loma had at least delivered fight for 3 belts on the line and despite from this best most funny Loma fights for me were vs Russel Jr. and Linares. Cool brilliant fun.
Nothing wrong. They also had removed their paper belt before Glowacki vs Briedis fight and had allowed Makabu to fight vs Durodola etc a like funny paper jokes.

The resurrection of @Aydamn is complete - welcome back and congrats on your man flooring an old man who could barely stand before the fight started.

Now onto bigger and better PPV Loot Bags.

Whytes record is better than Takams yes, he had a lot more opportunities against well chosen opposition than Takam did when he was at his best. I think a prime Takam has a better chin, better stamina and would cause him lots of problems. Hunter has MUCH quicker feet and hands than Whyte and is more accurate, difficult fight for him. Neither of these fighters are world beaters but that’s the point, neither is Dillian, no matter how much he headbuts Parker and beats up 41 year olds.
