LHW vs HW- How far does athleticism and size go against a master of another weight?
    6ft3 vs 5ft11 (4 inch gap)
82 inch reach vs 75 inch reach (7 inch gap)
    238lbs vs 175lbs (63lbs gap)
Razors HW prime vs Archies LHW prime.

I think that Moore was way too smart and too good to be caught by crude Ruddock. He'd outpoint him in similar fashion to first Valdes fight.

Why 175 weight? His best weight at Hw was very varied but 185-195 he did well at. Either way he picks him apart and KOs him late or outpoints him.

When you have such an enormous size gap, the two questions you always have to ask is:
    Does skill overcome size or
Does overpowering size simply win the day

History is heavily in favour of the latter.

I think History would disagree with you. Otherwise the champions of now and the past would all be giant SHWs. Only in the age of steroids has the shw been able to even compete let alone dominate. I’m not saying being taller and heavier doesn’t have its advantages it’s just not everything.

I agree, it's not everything. But it helps a lot, especially if the difference is enormous, as it is here.
Look at it another way... match the 175 pound fighters against 210+ pound fighters from the last 40 years against each other, and I'd say the vast majority are won by the significantly larger men.

There’s a significant ability gap favoring the smaller fighter here though. Don’t think it’s that cut and dry.

Steroids are not why they dominate, and not why they can just "Compete"

There is a definite gap in talent. So it depends really what people place more stock in.

I disagree. The champions would have always been 6”5 plus shws otherwise. It’s not like they didn’t exist.

Besides the talent gap Moore is more then proven against 200 plus pound men.

There were some interesting posts about this a few days ago. I think you may have missed it.
I can only speak for myself, but for me, better nutrition and better living standards have contributed to bigger people these days. People are just bigger now.
And with an increased population, there are more of them.
I don't think taking steroids makes a difference, at least not in terms of height. Lean muscle tissue? Sure.
