I don't think he can knock him out and if he gets a decision out of the three judges he will have to get his scalp checked for three sixes.

It would deffo be up with the great uk performances. We should probably drop Ken Buchanan's name also when we talk about the great away wins.

I actually would've given Saunders a real chance about three years ago but he's gone way downhill since then.

The only way BJS can possibly win is if he stops Canelo which is defo not gonna happen because he's never going to get a decision even if he does win more rounds. This is Canelo/Oscar judges/scorecards we're talking about.

Kirkland Laing is the one that always pops into my head.

I think BJS can do it, I'm starting to believe, I know it sounds ridiculous but the scene is set for something weird to happen.

Prediction - Alvarez MD but the boxing world to acknowledge that Saunders should have been walking away the winner.

That would be good, but I am going in the other direction. I was a believer a few years ago. The corruption, Saunders' lack of boxing at the highest level and in my opinion, his suspect chin....

Alvarez stoppage or UD I would imagine. I'm leaning toward the former.

Please surrender the crack pipe and walk away slowly. Help is on the way.

Good shout on Laing though, real outlier that one...

    Agreed.

Bill's "prep" for this fight has been non-existent.

I'm glad that he decided to sit out and let GGG get old, now he gets a prime killer instead :)

Has BJS ever had a decent gas tank? I think not.

He faded badly down the stretch in the Eubank Jr fight back in 2014. He has never really been a true professional in terms of his diet and lifestyle. He always looks pudgy despite always making weight. Making weight has been an achievement for him at times in his career.

In terms of the OP question. A win over Canelo would rank as one of the greatest wins of all time by a British fighter. I am not an expert on the history of boxing going back to the 1980s and further back, so am not going to comment on how this would rank in the all time lists!

The result sadly is a foregone conclusion.

If somehow, Billy was to achieve the impossible it would be a truly colossal upset, I don't think it's possible to overstate what a shock it would be!

One of the biggest wins of a British fighter of all time.

It's at the wrong weight for him, he has wasted the past 3 years of his career, he has never lived the life outside of the ring, he's up against an elite fighter who happens to be the biggest name in boxing, the fight is in Canelo's back yard....

Haha, if Laing can go to Detroit and outbox an ATG, despite the lifestyle he lived, BJS doing similar isn't unthinkable. I'm just anti Alvarez so I cling to any hope.

Does anybody know what the score on the cards were before khan got knocked out???

I think he was 4 rounds up but i could be wrong??

Bjs will win several of the early rounds I really dont see Canelo stopping him early if at all tbh.
Canelo will be relentless in the closing rounds but hopefully billy can slow him down a bit before then, I think it will be great to watch two elite boxers skill set wise but Canelo is a different animal in power and stamina

A drained, rusty but determined Chavez Jnr went the distance with Alvarez, I really think Saunders will too and I think he'll surprise a lot of people but it won't be enough, I can sense a strange fight though.

Saunders will build a lead over 5 rounds and then start fading

Agreed 100% on this -- the window was around 3 years ago at middleweight. Canelo is a much better fighter now and will be too powerful at SMW.
