I hate to say it, but I did. Eyeliner has been terrible since his introduction to boxing, but has used his size well against smaller opponents. Whyte cracked his chin and has been unsure about his ability since then. Gallen only has one gear and it's straightforward. Incredibly limited but effective against a plodder with no chin like Browne - a 1, 2 is all he was going to need. Rinse and repeat. Gallen was paying just under $29.00 for a first round stoppage. I had $95 winnings in my account prior to the fight, so put it on Gallen within 1 round. I disliked him massively in league, but deserves props for jumping in with Browne, let alone icing him!

Good Morning, Men & Women of the Stifler's Mum thread! And what a glorious morning it is! The day after the night before. I don't know about anyone else, but I thoroughly enjoyed the drama & high caliber boxing on display last night. It began early for me. I tuned in to see Jackson Murray, the former national amateur Super H/W champ, make his pro debut & he didn't disappoint. He's a big 6'7 southpaw with quick hands & decent power. They should bring him in to spar with Justis Huni in the lead-up to the Olympics. As to the PPV portion of the program, I loved seeing Lenny back in this country doing his thing. It was a good choice of opponent for him. Maybe one or two more like that & then a cash-out fight against someone like a returning Horndog is what I'd like to see for Lenny. He's had a tremendous career. Let's see him get some wins & make some money before he finishes up. Bruno Tarimo was terrific at Junior Lightweight. I didn't realise that he is actually a Super Bantam. He'd be world class in that weight division. He used a decent domestic lightweight as a heavy bag for much of last night's fight. Credit to Frenzy MacKenzie for sticking with it all night & making a fight of it though. That's what good professionals do. Well done to both boys. I hadn't seen Steve Spark before last night & he certainly impressed. We will hopefully be seeing plenty of him from here on in b/c he looks to be a natural. @juppity has mentioned him a few times & he vindicated that judgement last night fighting a weight division up. As with Kye MacKenzie, credit to Jack Brubaker for sticking with it for the duration & giving fans their money's worth. The penultimate fight of the night featured a classy display from the very talented Liam Wilson & a very courageous & gritty display from Francis Chua. Loved it. The Main Event? Great win for Gal! He's fair dinkum the Santa Claus of Australian boxing if you ask me. How can anyone, except maybe Queenslanders, not like Santa Claus? Great to see him take on such a formidable challenge & come out the other side intact. Commiserations to Lucas on the result. What's next for Gal? I hope it's the Justis Huni fight. I think it would be a tremendous showcase for our best young talent on the eve of what could be an historic Olympic games for us. Some of these good young heavies we have need to step up & face Huni though if he's ever to achieve his true potential. I look forward to Gal going where they have feared to tread & showing them how it's done.
I agree mate it was a well matched card I ended up putting $100 on Gallen head to head at $2.45 with sportsbet I think a first round KO for Gallen was paying $36. I don't think Browne took a premeditated dive but I think once he knew how strong and determined Gallen was that he didn't want anymore and was happy to take his pay check. I doubt Gallen will fight Huni I reckon Huni might vacate and we could see Gallen fight for the vacant Aussie title next. Browne is surely done now he doesn't take his training serious enough.
Man he looked like some guy who had never had a fight before that they dragged out of the crowd. Mundine was the same these guys need to realise when their time is up..
Well Gents, that certainly didn’t go as planned. Absolutely full credit to Gal, he proved plenty of people, myself included, wrong. Don’t believe any of the hype, Lucas’ prep was fine. He trained well, sparred well. Gal caught him on the ear, I’m guessing his drum might be busted as he still can’t hear out of it. His equilibrium never recovered. Father Time waits for nobody. Also... it wasn’t a sausage roll ffs It was an Oats bar.
Hey Ipp, I know you say he trained well but I have serious doubts about it, the footage I saw when he was hitting pads really concerned me he didn't look fluent at all & was struggling? Being in decent shape & being fight fit is different & he didn't look ready. Did he change camp again? Now with dreamtime? Please tell me you'll have the convo with him to hang them up? There is no point continuing & tarnishing anymore of his achievements. He has done it all & achieved more then any other aus boxer but losses like this will be what he is unfortunately remembered for especially after calling for this fight & saying he would of kod both Gallen & hall together.
To me Browne was always one of the characters in the hw division. Now it should be time to have a farewell fight against a can he'll certainly KO and retire.

Sparky had troubles outside the ring but he unlike another Toowomba fighter Damien Hooper he seems to be able to stay out of trouble. Despite reports of him being Mr Nice Guy i see the mongrel attitude in the ring that will take him a long way.
Browne never really had a great chin but he was definitely tough. That toughness evaporated a long time ago.
